UPDATED: Brash IS NOT developing Where the Sidewalk Ends video game

UPDATE:  Brash wrote today to kindly ask us to remove this article, but we thought it might be better to set the record straight since our sources haven’t been this wrong in a long time.

Here’s the official word from Brash’s VP of Communications, Tiffany Spencer.

Typically I would respond by saying that we don’t respond to rumors and speculation, but to be honest, this is so far out in left field that I think we should just pull it completely. It’s 100% not true. Now that you have my info you have someone to go to for fact checking.

Wow, we weren’t just wrong about this, we were so wrong that Brash broke it’s own rumor and speculation policy to deny it.  Duly noted.

Sorry Brash…..  Apparently I was a little brash myself in reporting this rumor.

In fairness it WAS a pretty cool rumor, while it lasted.

The source for this information has been issued a demerit.

Sorry all.

Time for another nugget from another of our esteemed sources.

According to Source 8291A, who’s true identity is withheld to protect further employment of said source, Brash Entertainment is currently developing a video game to accompany the movie of the same name, based on Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends.

The possibly true, yet totally rumored and sketchy details after the jump.

While ZERO gameplay details at this time, our source tells us that nerves are running a little frayed in the hallways of Brash right now, as the movie has been delayed.  Apparently Brash needs to get this game to market on time in order to meet its financial projections, and this could hurt em if the game’s release follows suit.

In any event I’m really curious about what a game based on the book’s twisted verse will look and play like.  If it’s as good in game form as it was when Mrs. Riddle read it to us in 1st grade, we’re in for a wild, albeit monochromatic, trip.
