PS3 Fanboy has confirmed that Europe will also be receiving the LittleBigPlanet pre-order bonus characters promised to the US by the PlayStation.Blog a short time ago.

Good news. Those tiny little details await after the jump.

Retail site Play.com is promising a “Play.com Exclusive Nariko Character” with every pre-order of LittleBigPlanet, with details on how to obtain the character being sent out to customers within a week or so after release. However, there doesn’t appear to be any word on whether Europe will also be seeing the little Sackboy Kratos, with no websites appearing to include it in their pre-order scheme.

At this time I might as well advise any European SGC members eyeing up some future releases to go to Play.com because Nariko is not the only pre-order bonus being offered up by the Jersey-based website. A pre-order of Mercenaries 2 or Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will give you exclusive LBP-style costume unlocks for use in the game. Heck, even the next Sims 2 expansion pack will give you exclusive items to use in the game.

Thinking of buying Guitar Hero: World Tour in November? Play.com, for some reason or another, will give you a free bass guitar controller for the game. Gratis. Nowt. Sweet naff-all. I’d go for that quickly if you’re thinking of buying the game at all…well, if you’ve got £150 to throw away, anyway.

So then. Pre-order bonuses. Incentive enough to guarantee a copy on launch day or just not worth the bother? If you want my opinion, I’ve already placed my LittleBigPlanet pre-order. I think the exclusivity of certain, tiny little things, even if it’s just a character or costume, is allure enough. Or, in the case of Guitar Hero, a free bass guitar is just not worth passing up. Especially if none of your friends have it, and you can rub it in.

Ah, the simple pleasures in life.
