GTA IV DLC Out this Autumn…maybe

August 20th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Stranded amidst the torrent of Sony hardware news, Microsoft have quietly let slip the following statement…

“In autumn there will be news from Liberty City; the first episodes of GTA IV will be available for download exclusively on Xbox LIVE, underlining Xbox 360’s leadership role in the field of digital entertainment.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah, there’s some stuff about the GTA IV DLC, but what I’m more interested in is this ‘Field of Digital Entertainment’. Where is this field? What type of technology is in it? Doesn’t the grass get in way? All I know is that I want to visit it…now.

Anyway, while ‘news from Liberty City’ could just be a carrier pigeon delivering a note saying ‘Liberty City has a crime problem’, it’s more likely to mean that Autumn is the upcoming release date. This coupled with all the other games that are coming out this Fall, could result in me getting a little visit from Mr Bailiff.

Oh well, as long as he doesn’t take my 360, laptop or TV, I’m ok with it.

Although we don’t yet know what the mysterious DLC is, there have been many a rumor, ranging from a revamped version of San Andreas to…well ok, maybe just one rumor. Whatever it is, with Microsoft rumored (that’s three times this paragraph) to have paid $50 million, it better be good, or they may want a refund.

      @Tyler Leger

      Well they did delay the DLC, so if R* delays something, you know they’ll make it better.

      Interesting interpretation. I took “news” to mean someone will come out in Autumn and tell us we can expect DLC in early 09. Sure hope your more optimistic interpretation is correct though.
