TAKE OUT A GOLD CRATE IN 8 SECONDS

Tired of working your way to the gold crate and setting the unrealistically long timer on the bomb, only to get pegged by a tango who then defuses it? Me too. That’s why I’m so thankful that last week, Truth and Justice showed me the quickest, easiest, and possibly dirtiest way to take out a crate in 8 seconds flat with one guy. It’s so easy you’ll be kicking yourself for not thinking of it.
Okay, so we all know that the timer lasts too long to be a sure-thing once you’ve set it to blow, plus as soon as it’s set the enemy team is alerted and come running to waste you. If you sneak in and start tossing grenades at it, they also get a heads up and come running to pulverize you. With this little trick you can take out a crate within 8 seconds using only one guy.
- Take a Demolition guy to the enemy crate, and try not to get into any skirmishes on the way. Your demo guy is brutal at short range, but he’s a dead man in any sort of ranged firefight.
- When you get to the crate DO NOT SET CHARGES OR IN ANY WAY DRAW ATTENTION TO YOURSELF.
- Start counting backwards in your head from 8.
- Drop all 5 of your demo guy’s land mines at the base of the crate, but spread them out along the edge of it. If they stack up it seems you get less bang.
- Take 5 steps backwards.
- Shoot the crate with a rocket launcher.
If you do it right, you’ll destroy the crate without ever tipping off the enemy that it is under attack. In many cases, due to hasty mine laying, you don’t get the full boom, but an extra rocket usually is all it takes to knock out that sliver of health left on the meter.
Last night I had my personal best score and took out 7 of 8 crates on a map thanks to this little nugget.
So if you’ve been confused about how your crates are going up without a fight, now you know. Now, go do unto others.

I always considered this, but since not having the game, it doesn’t really matter. Love the Boom Goes the Dynamite reference though, Doc.

YAY! That time it took to set up the bomb always was annoying. I still do it though cause I don’t like it when it’s real easy and I feel cheap, but hey when I’m getting really fustrated I guess I’ll turn to this.

Or try both. Drop the mines, set the bomb, sit back and let the guys come to it.
BOOM. messy.

Another east gold crate is on Over and Out. Spawn as demolitions, walk about 5 meters from the spawn on top of the hill, you should be able to see the gold crate markers now. Take out the rocket launcher, aim at the centre and let rip. You can hit a crate you can’t see while the enemy can’t see you

It may not be as quick but two people with C-4 can also take a crate out undetected aslong as they deploy all of their c-4 before detonateing.

Add that to the fact that you get more points for destroying the crate manually, and you’ll see the main reason my squadmates and I have done this since the beginning

That one game you showed me and Vin that was so cool. We just rolled the other team, they didn’t even know what was happening.
