We just got this little piece of goodness from an insider at EA. It seems that there were trailers release that were not approved for North American consumption by the ESRB… I guess it was too violent or gory or something. Well, we got our hands on the banned trailer of EA’s new third person survival horror shooter, Dead Space, just for you.

Well, we’ve got it. Of course, after the jump.

Here’s the gory goodness:

Ooh… could you imagine if they showed that at E3? Crank up on volume, make the room real dark…. spooky :P

That was friggin creepy! I can’t wait.

Well, its not that its too violent in general, but its rather its presentation. Obviously its a representation of the game, and since people aren’t (at least yet) faulting the game for being too violent, it seems to me that the forum in which the trailer would be seen is the problem. E3 is more a space for big announcements and corporate synergy, not the pants crappingly awesomeness that was that trailer.

That trailer was awesome !! Almost like Bioshock in space but bloodier. I think it is no different than showing a Gears of War 2 trailer with meat shields and chainsaws. F the ESRB.

      (In Nathan Explosion voice)

      That was brutal!

honestly, i think its too much. i hate when people give video games unfair critisism, but i think it may be a valid ban. how many movie trailers do you see with that much gore? i’m not saying ban the game, but i agree with the ban on the trailer

Wow if north america is having a winge about gore .. wth is australia going to do =s

    • Grantly says:

I don’t think it was too much to show at E3. On TV however…

But holy Christ! That was awesome!

    • Krelith says:

@Typhoon ==> If Australia aren’t letting Fallout 3 into their borders you can guaran-damn-tee this won’t get anywhere close

Although it showed absolutely no gameplay, I am SO EFFING PSYCHED to play that game.

With whats on TV, whats on the internet and in films esspecially its hard to really imagine how much is too much.
I dont think that was it.
Lots of gore, blood and an awesome scray looking game, but nothing that most people haven’t seen in some other form of entertainment.
Dont show it to kids and its fine.

      Omg I got a boner.

Not really, but I really like it! I love gore in games and this one is so yummy ^^.

    • D3 says:

      Wow.
That trailer was the best I’ve seen for any game so far!

I’m only 13, I’ve happily completed the game, it wasn’t at all too scary or violent for me, and I’m not really very ‘tough’ either. I think the ESRB and BBFC need to be a bit more lenient with content like this, I thought the trailer was fine, really. As long as it’s on TV past the watershed.
