weekly wonder

Hello and welcome to the fourth edition of our new feature here on Sarcastic Gamer cleverly entitled ‘Sarcastic Gamer’s Weekly Wonder’. Each week I’ll be posting an interesting question about video games, so interesting in fact, that you’ll want to answer it. And answer it you shall – all you have to do is post your reply to the question in the comment box. Simple.

It’s that time again and Weekly Wonder returns for another week. Hit the jump for this week’s question.

This week we want to know about your favorite sequels. What is your favorite sequel ever and why? Which series has been dragged on too long and should stop having sequels? What game would you like a sequel made for? You might think that there has never been a sequel as good as the original game. If so which game and why?

As usual put your answers in the comment box. 3…2…1…GO!

I want sequel to Black. No, really!
As fir the best story… how about Deus Ex, it’s sequel was good but didn’t meet my expectations, and so was Halo 2.

The sequels that i like are:

Golden Sun 2 the lost age

Excellent series, im hoping they make a third but doubt they will

Final Fantasy 8 is an excellent game

Final Fantasy 7 looks at least as good as FF8

      The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion

the god of war series was produced very well.

Im mainly an rpg gamer however i did enjoy halo 3 and gears of war.

Im hoping the single palyer in gears of war 2 is as good as it looks and longer than the single player in the original.

I think Halo 2 was the best sequel to a game, but it was almost like, outside of campaign, it was a brand new series. I can’t think of any seqels that should stop, but I’m sick of Nintendo making Mario spinoffs of everything. Mario Strikers, Mario Hoops, Mario and Sonic @ the Games, Mario everything… I can deal with the platformers and Paper Mario, but they get unoriginal after awhile, like EA sport games.

Two sequels I want so see: BioShock, Jak+Daxter, and Portal, but I’m worried because I don’t know if you could pull off a sequel for.

I think the only diminished sequel was Super Mario Sunshine form the 64. It wasn’t bad, I just didn’t enjoy it as much as the side scrollers, 64, or Galaxy.

Shadow of Rome on the PS2 was one of the most overlooked game by Capcom. It really needs a next-gen follow up, minus the somewhat dodgy stealth sections, the action was amazing with a simple fighting system that had massive depth, add on top a combo system that inspires you to pull off the best game of your life.

next gen attempts could only improve on such a great game, if youve not played Shadow of Rome then get out there and buy it!

My favorite sequel ever is LoZ: OoT. It may not be NO.2 in the series, but it is a sequel to LttP. The series that has dragged on to far in my opinion is Sonic the Hedghog. After Sa2 on Dreamcast, the series went on a sharp downhill dive. A game I would like a sequel made for is Command and Conquer Generals. A true sequel, n ot another expansion pack. A game who’s sequels have never been as good as the original game is Max Payne.
