According to PSP Hyper (an interesting site name to say the least) this week’s issue of popular Japanese gaming mag Famitsu will reveal Patapon 2. None of the details are after the break, but hit it anyway to see pics of my girlfriend.
Hehe, works every time. However, there’s no time for that now – we have news to report!
For those of you who don’t remember, Patapon was a rhythm based side scrolling RTS which, although it sounds weird, worked wonderfully. You enter rhythmic commands using the PSP’s face buttons to order your army to advance, retreat, defend and use powers. It’s a hard concept to explain, so look at a review if you want to know more. Or frigging buy the game, it’s less than 20 bucks, you cheap ass.
Anyway, PSP Hyper is reporting that this week’s issue of Famitsu is going to be dedicated to Patapon 2 and Loco Roco 2 and the PSP in general. Woo? It also confirms that Patapon 2 is being made by Pyramid Games, who made the previous game and Loco Roco. All good so far.
The bad bit is that only a Japanese release date is mentioned (this Winter), but hopefully it should come over here sometime next year.
I’d expect to hear more about both Patapon 2 and Loco Roco 2 at E3 which, if you didn’t know, SG is attending.
Note: At the time of writing, the PSP Hyper site appears to be down.
