New Halo Game In Development. Wow really?

July 16th, 2008 · 4 Comments

In an interview with MTV Multiplayer Doc Mattrick, head of Xbox business, confirmed that Bungie were working on on a new Halo game. Huh… No kidding.

Many people will have noticed the absence of Halo Wars, or any Halo related news at E3 this year, but Mattrick assured MTV that there was no need to worry and confirmed the existence of a new Halo game in the process.

When asked whether this project was the already announced Halo Wars or the secretive Peter Jackson Halo project, Mattrick confirmed that it was an entirely new game, before swiftly changing the subject.

As you may well know Bungie’s E3 announcement was cancelled, but was that anything to do with this new Halo game?

All we can do is speculate, but that’s fine by me - speculating is always fun. Hit the comment box and post your thoughts on this most pressing matter.

Whether the game was Halo or not it’s pretty clear MS was the publisher who cancelled the announcement. Goes to show that even though they went independant Bungie will always be Microsoft’s bitch

Yeah no doubt that Microsoft cancelled the announcement. Sadly, I just think it was probably the Halo Squad Based shooter and not Halo 4. Microsoft probably cancelled it because they didn’t want to take away attention from FF XIII (Big Friggin Deal) and the fact that Bungie wanted independence.

Noone really knows except bungie and the company.
Nothing has been said, if it will even be an exclusive yet etc, bit far to jump the gun completly and say its all microsoft i think.

Its been confirmed by the L.A. Times that Mattrick canceled revealing the new game because “he wanted to cut the time down from 2 1/2 hours to 90 minutes.” Sorry but that kind of sucks. Some think its cause he heard ahead of time that both Nintendo and Sony’s conferences would suck. G4TV is reporting that Microsoft is going to have a whole event dedicated to the unveiling of the new game.
