Hey there faithful readers. I’ve got a treat for you. You may have seen this video already, you may haven’t, but if you have, I’m sure you’ll agree that after viewing it, you’ll never be the same.
Maybe I’m overstating it a bit…
Mercenaries 2 is coming out on August 31,2008 and I am damn excited. For those that may have missed the original Mercenaries on the PS2 or Xbox, it’s a game where you can choose from three different characters, go out in the world and blow crap up. That’s about it. You could steal vehicles including tanks, helicopters, jeeps, light tanks, muscle cars, anything that was around. The game was basically GTA with bigger explosions, better graphics and better shooting mechanics.
I fully expect the same for Mercenaries 2 and this video goes along way toward stoking my Mercenaries 2 E-boner. (yup, I stole that from the 1up Yours podcast…)

I think it will deliver, mercenaries 1 was awesome, and fun. I think this game will do well.

interactive hyjacking shud b fun mite get a bit boring or annoying in a chase tho……can u get hit whilst hijacking something??

Looks great, I absolutely loved the first game. August 31st can’t come quickly enough.

I haven’t played the original but from hearing people discuss it at the beginning of the year I was expecting more from the destructable enviroments.
One thing I did like though was the vehicle disguise. It’s such an obvious thing that so many sandbox games ignore. The GTA series being the worst offenders, seems like every game has a mission where you have to sit in a particular car (associated with a particular gang or a cop car etc.) and you use it to hide out, but outside the mission the cops don’t act at all differently if you’re in a cop car.

I loved the first game. I don’t know why they try to make them sound different though. They all have the same weapons they can call in and vehicals. They can all use the same weapons to. Not that it’s a complaint just saying. Can’t wait for co-op.
