James Marshall Hendrix, the Winston Churchill of the electric guitar, will have music featured in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Not only that, but a Jimi Hendrix avatar will be playable. This guy has had a busy year. Maybe I should say whomever owns his estate is having a busy year. First the sex tape, and now not only will you get two master tracks from the master, but you will also get him as a playable character.
I wonder how much his estate will gross after the release of World Tour.
Here’s the official scoop:
“One of the most creative and influential musicians of the 20th century, Hendrix will be featured in the game as a playable character, along with two of his most recognizable master tracks, Purple Haze (Live) recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena and The Wind Cries Mary. Additional exclusive songs from the legendary artist will follow as downloadable content.”
I would have preferred it if Voodoo Child had been one of the launch songs, but I guess that will come out as DLC.
IT BETTER!
They also need to have him set his guitar on fire if you get five stars on a song.
Seeing the two guitar wielding franchises actually competing in the generation of the franchise is great news. Great news for gamers, because complacency is BS.
I’m looking at you Madden ‘08.

If this future DLC doesn’t include Little Wing then there’ll be tears…
