With Nathan Hale prepping for his ongoing campaign against the Chimera, I recently found myself wondering what the other Insomniac characters were doing to occupy their time this summer. I imagine Captain Qwark is sitting on his astro couch, sipping Dr. Pepper and munching Doritos. However, what about Ratchet and Clank? Do they have any plans for the future?
Hit the jump to find out.
Earlier this year, a list of what was believed to be future PSN content was leaked onto the Internet. One of the items on the list was titled Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty. The title resurfaced about a month ago, but under the name Ratchet & Clank: En Busca del Tesoro.
Sony has not provided any additional information on the title, nor have they confirmed or denied its existence.
Despite the lack of an explanation from Sony, the title seems to be headed for a release on the Playstation 3.
The ESRB, which has been notorious for revealing the existence of games prior to an official announcement, has posted a rating for the popular duo’s next adventure. Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty will apparently feature the cartoony violence we have come to expect from the series, with a bit of alcohol use thrown in for good measure. I guess Captain Qwark finally hit rock bottom.
It should be mentioned that the ESRB has changed its policy to allow publishers to decide when a rating is listed on the site. So, in the wake of the leaked PSN list, perhaps Sony felt the secret had already been revealed and there was no point in trying to hide the game’s existence any longer.
The inclusion of “Future” in the title suggests that this new game, be it a PSN release or disc-based adventure, will continue the story arc that began in 2007’s Tools of Destruction.
Hopefully, Sony will officially unveil the title and its release date at E3 next week. Remember to keep your mouse on the refresh button, as we will be bringing you the news as it rolls in.

Sweet… does that mean they will lower the price on Tools of Destruction soon? I’m too cheap to pay $60 for a R&C game.
