That’s pretty much all I can say. Square Enix just revealed that Final Fantasy 13 is coming to the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3…and on the same day.

At the very end of the Microsoft Press conference a trailer was shown. At first it looked just like another JRPG, but then suddenly I began to notice something Final Fantasyish about it. Initially I though it might be a remake of 10 or 7, but then it came up. Final Fantasy 13 is coming to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
No news on when this is coming to the Xbox 360, but Wow… just wow.

Noooooo! well the world as we no it is coming to an end, I hate Square more than ever now but I wonder what sony will do to bounce back from this heartbreaking announcement. At least Sony still has Final Fantasy Versus XIII!

Square are saying it won’t be on the 360 in Japan.
Interesting to see how big a deal they seem to think this is and yet they don’t seem to think it’s enough to sell 360s in Japan.
It is a big deal for Microsoft, but it’s highlighting some of the problems the 360 faces and demonstrating that their strategy involves throwing as much money as possible at a problem, rather then trying to intelligently solve it.
Also interesting that, from what I understand, they’ll be developing a Japanese PS3 version and then simultaneously localising and porting. Seems like it could be the cause of a few delays.
Ok, more people can enjoy FF now, thats good, but what bothers me is that FFXIII will be downgraded. PS3 is, and will forever be, more powerful than 360, and since FF goes multiplatform, it will be downgraded.
My only hope for the game (PS3fan perspective), is that since this game was originally made for PS3, it will be ported to 360, and it may loose content, which PS3 still have. So the PS3 version may have more story, better graphics and more sidequests.
But still, Sony has still a chance for revenge tomorrow. (Halo rumors are still left unsolved, and Bungie is not owned by Microsoft anymore…)
AND Final Fantasy Versus Might still be PS3 exlusive… Lets hope.

But you do have to notice, that the 360 has almost no install base in japan, america and europe has a big install base, therefore they have “soldout” (kind of) and are just wanting to make a lot of money

One thing to note… PS2 never was the most technically advanced consoles, and still sold like pancakes.
Ouch, Sony has pretty much lost all of it’s old exclusives now. I mean GTA, Resident Evil, DMC, Virtual Fighter, and many more have all been lost. Now Final Fantasy?
As far as I can see the only exclusives that Sony has left from the good old days is God of War and GT. But oh well. All I have to say is that Sony better have a lot of surprises and a lot to show off at tomorrow’s conferences or else this is just going to be another year of the 360.
I was floored by this news, so floored that I was shaking, but after reading just about every comment on the internet, it’s interesting to see all the little kiddies write this off as Sony’s doomsday. I say kiddies because adults know better.
Will this move hurt Sony that much? No
Will this move more units for SE? Yes
Will it move more on the 360 than the PS3? No, and I say that because while the 360 has a larger install base in America, most of those people aren’t FF players, any denying that would be foolish.
It will matter in Japan in boosting PS3 sales, and that it will do and do it again with versusXIII.
Will I be shocked to see vXIII go to the 360? No
Will Star Ocean be out on the PS3 next spring with the 360 version? More than likely
This news is huge but it doesn’t change much for anyone other than SE, it sucks that I have to wait for the 360 version to be finished before I get to play it, so I will probably import it. This won’t motivate sales for 360 hardware much nor will it for the PS3 much, but if anyone thinks that Sony didn’t know about this beforehand is crazy. I’m sure they will have just as big an announcement come tomorrow afternoon.

FFXIII will be a PS3 exclusive in Japan, then when it’s done, English localization and 360 development will begin. At least that’s how Kotaku is reporting it…
I honestly didn’t think that FFXIII was so wanted on the 360 from my understanding i’ve never known 360 owners to be big RPG fans…well not as much as i’ve known PS3 owners to be anyways, again I say let them have it, so atleast now they now what a great game-series thay’ve been missing out on.

If this had been exclusive, it almost certainly would have moved consoles.
The PS3 will likely have come down in price when FFXIII is out, and i’d think a lot of people that are waiting to buy a ps3 for games like this, will now not bother at all. Knowing that its coming to the 360 which many own.
So it wont kill off sony as the internet proclaims, but it probably will eat into their western sales.
In japan im sure they will make lots of money and be happy happy happy though

@Kage seriously….you thought FFX was a good game sure it was alrite but one of the worst to squares standards lost only to x -2 that game sucked and btw I am a final fantasy lover I have evey game in x – 2 *ashamed look* i will def pick it up if its on the 360
