That’s right kids, the big N announced not 1, not 9, not - ok we’ve done this before, so let’s cut to the juice. Today Nintendo announced three games: Wario Land: Shake It for the Wii as well as Kirby Super Star Ultra and Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir for the DS. Blah blah blah yadda yadda, stop messing about and hit that jump.
We’ll start with Wario Land: Shake It! for the Wii. WLSI is a ‘classic side-scroller’ starring every one’s least favourite fat guy in yellow, Wario. In order to smash your way through the ‘hectic’ levels, you’ll have to turn the Wiimote sideways like an old fashioned controller which should make it a bit easier to play. The game’s motion sensing features leave a little bit to be desired, but you’ll just have to be content shaking the Wiimote in order to kill enemies, open treasure and cause earthquakes…that’s right: earthquakes. The missions take a Mario 64-esque structure, with multiple tasks available on each level meaning you can go back to them time after time, for unlimited fun and entertainment. WLSI is out on September 29th, which coincedntally is one day before September 30th.
Next up is Kirby Super Star Ultra. Despite my significant lack of DS ownership, this is the game I’m most looking forward to out of the 3. KSSU is a re-imagining of the SNES classic starring non other than the Kirby himself. The game promises a wealth of modes including the new catchily named Meta Knight Ultra mode…yes, Meta Knight also makes a return. KSSU boasts 3 whole mini games, that use the touch screen and can be played over local wireless or download play - that’s right, now your friends can have no fun without paying. Apart from the mini games (I hate mini games), Kirby Super Star Ultra should be a great new entry into the series, I just wish it was on the Wii. Oh yeah I almost forgot, it’s out September 29th so make a note in your dream journal.
Finally we have Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir. Oh hahaha, I just got the pun. MillionHeir sounds like Millionaire. Geddit? How very drole. Anyway, MillionHeir continues Big Fish Games’ seek and solve PC detective series, only this time it’s on the DS. You’ll be able to solve puzzles using the touch screen and the microphone, though I don’t see how the microphone will help. Maybe you have to sing at a certain pitch in order to break a glass vase and uncover a secret note. Or maybe you have to blow dust of a table in order to uncover a secret note. You might even have to yell at a butler until he brings you a secret note. Either way the game is out on September 8th.
By the way, all those microphone ideas are now trademarked, so don’t go-a-stealin them.
Sauces: Ketchup, BuisnessWire, Caesar, Joystiq
