Source: Ironside’s ego and demands were too much for Ubisoft

As we reported on last week, a source very close to the Splinter Cell: Conviction project told us that Michael Ironside would not be back as Sam Fisher, marking the first change ever for the famous gun-toting agent.

This “rumor” took another small step towards getting its fact wings this morning as our source tells us, the issue at hand was an age-old problem. According to our source…

“He was getting to way too egotistical about the project and extremely difficult to work
with.”

“He was also asking for a sh*t load of money..”

“He pretty much tied his own noose”

I think its also important to note that Ubisoft has STILL not answered any requests for comment on this.

Not from us.

Not from Joystiq.

Not from from X3F.

So, Splinter Cell fans, get ready for a new Sam Fisher. Hopefully it’s someone with zero sense of self worth, and who works for peanuts.

Maybe Ubisoft can save a TON of money and just use text bubbles and bing-bing sounds whenever Fisher talks.

You know, since they’re in to saving money on staple characters.
