Stimulus Check spending spree!!!

Thanks to the mighty and wise U.S. government, anyone who filed a tax return for 2007 is getting a hefty check to, of course, stimulate the economy. Now, we could go into the politics of it all, but that just leads down a bad road. We’re all getting some free money, and as gamers it’s our right.. nay, our duty to stimulate the economy by growing our game libraries or adding a new console to our entertainment center.

So how do you do your duty and blow $300 or $600 dollars on? Follow the jump to find out.

The Games

There are a number of new and old titles that you could easily blow hundreds of dollars on to make your library grow. Even a bad game can seem good when you think that the government bought it for you.

Rock Band – I know alot of people who didn’t buy Rock Band because of the price tag attached to it. Well now you can rock out without guilt or being forced to eat Ramen for a month.

Guitar Hero 3 – Though Guitar Hero isn’t as pricy as Rock Band, it still costs a bit more than regular games. If you always wanted to get on the Guitar Hero bandwagon, you might as well let someone else buy it for you.

Battlefield: Bad Company / Call of Duty 4 / Grand Theft Auto 4 – Tired of missing out on the Sarcastic Gamer Nights? Well if you’re getting a check this summer, maybe it’s time to pick up one of the games we play regularly. Battlefield: Bad Company is pretty new, but since Lono is so fond of it, I see a Bad Company gamer night in the very near future.

Dragonball Z: Burst Limit / Naruto: Rise of a Ninja – Okay, let me know when you’re done laughing. Got it all out? Good. Both these games, and many others out there are average games that many people overlooked due to the huge number of triple A titles that have been released lately. Well, if you’re out shopping for games, why not pick one of these up? Other games that fall under this category are: Eternal Sonata, Culdcept Saga, FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage, and Ninja Gaiden II.

Xbox Live Arcade / PSN Store – What better way to waste $100 than to download a huge load of games off of your network of choice. Whether it’s Penny Arcade Episode 1 or Pixel Junk Monsters, there is a wide variety of games to choose from.

World of Warcraft – Take the jump, and cover the monthly fee for a couple years. Come on over to the dark side, we have cookies.. and Night Elves.

That’s what I did with mine. Still haven’t figured out what to do with the $100 Walmart GC I got when I bought one, though.
