Insomniac Games has been in the news a lot lately. Last week, Ted Price, the founder of the Burbank-based studio, revealed the opening of an additional office in North Carolina. This Friday, the world premiere of gameplay video from Resistance 2 (Yay!) hits the interwebs. Not content with ruling the eastern United States and the PS3, Insomniac might be looking to invade the PSN.

Earlier this year, a list of future PSN content was leaked onto the Internet. One of the items on the list was titled Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty. Some hypothesized that this was additional content meant to supplement Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. However, I was hoping for some sort of late-night adventure in which Ratchet plays wingman to Clank as he attempts to wrangle members of the fairer sex. By the way Insomniac, did I mention that I am currently searching for employment?

Though information has been scarce since the initial leak, a recent post on Destructoid provided some additional information on a possible PSN Ratchet game.

Based on information from NeoGAF, the folks over at Destructoid have reported that everyone’s favorite Lombax might star in a PSN game titled Ratchet & Clank: En Busca del Tesoro. I am not fluent in Spanish, but apparently, that translates to “In Search for Treasure.” Based on the title, I assume that game will be about hunting for treasure, and not women. Excuse me while I weep.

No release date has been provided, as the game has not been officially announced. However, that never seems to stop the rumors from endlessly circulating around the Internet. The game, like previous installments in the franchise, will supposedly be a 3-D action-adventure title. Those who complained about the lack of online multiplayer in Tools of Destruction will be happy to know that there is rumored to be some sort of online functionality in this rumored title. Did I mention that this is all a rumor until an official announcement? Rumors, rumors, rumors….

I have been eagerly awaiting some additional Ratchet content since I completed Tools of Destruction late last year. I doubt we will see another PS3 Ratchet before November 2009, but, if true, this PSN title could be just what the doctor ordered.

The obvious question, besides a release date, is: if this game will connect to the story arc started in Tools of Destruction. What do you think SG community?
