Thus far, Grand Theft Auto 4 is THE game of 2008. It’s the first next-gen GTA, and on par with Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, and Halo 3 as big-name releases. Some are calling it a cultual touchstone, whatever that is. Whether you like the game, or not, you cannot deny the impact it’s had.
You know what? I’m sick and tired about writing about GTA IV.
This game isn’t perfect. Heck, no game in history is perfect, and it’s doubtful that any game in the next decade will receive that footnote. As technology progresses and games become more and more ambitious, along with deadlines to get the game finished, bugs will get through the QA process and appear in the retail product. Blah, blah, blah.
There I go again, droning on about this game. I proved my own point, although, the game deserves all the media it’s getting. Since the game’s release, news has been next-to-nothing and every major website has been plastered with GTA content.
This brings me to my topic: I don’t want to write about Grand Theft Auto, but the current status of the industry has really left me without much of a choice. There’s really nothing else to talk about right now, in my opinion. There is some news trickling out concerning the Playstation 3 or Wii, but those are areas in which I have no jurisdiction in.
So, I implore you. If you’re one of those people out there who don’t want to hear about GTA IV, you only have to wait. It’s doubtful that the game will fade from the forefront any time soon, but at some point in the near future, the media will return to business as usual. Grand Theft Auto 4 is the big thing right now, you cannot deny that, whether you like it or not.
I hope these dog days are over soon.

I’d personally like to hear more about Haze…. that’s the “BIG” game I keep hearing about for the PS3. I want more of Lono and Dave’s commentary on how it sucks major balls. It must have some redeeming quality…. it can’t be another “Turning Point”… can it?

No offense but Haze looks like it’s going to blow in the gameplay department just like Killzone. But that’s just my personal opinion….
Left 4 Dead or Battlefield Bad Company will be the next big FPS purchase for me…
