Fresh on the heels of Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima’s clarification of being misquoted by the media when he said he was disappointed with the Playstation 3, we have word that he has once again been involved in a controversial mistranslation that is sure to have fans around the world upset (and quite possibly nauseated!)

Rumors spreading of yet another adventure featuring both Solid Snake and Liquid Snake have turned out to be the results of mistranslated eavesdropping of epic proportions according to Kojima at a press conference this morning in Tokyo. Apparently Kojima was recently suffering from painful intestinal discomfort and was forced to seek medical attention. Either another patient or staff from the medical facility overheard him talking to the doctors, discussing the inconsistencies of his bowel movements. We’re guessing they were mistranslated as “Solid Snake” and “Liquid Snake”. He was also reportedly very concerned because he’d recently plugged several toilets; once being forced to use a motorized metal sewer snake to break up. It’s not too far of a stretch to see how this could be considered another “metal gear” creation.

After identifying a couple of the more unique and bizarre details of the rumor, along with similarities to the discussion he had with doctors, Kojima felt it would be in everybody’s best interest to announce that there are still no plans for any additional Metal Gear Solid games after the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Online. As a parting shot, Kojima said that for those interested in this latest rumored battle, as far as he’s concerned… Solid Snake has once again overcome Liquid Snake, stating that Liquid Snake has been wiped away, and despite getting his hands a little dirty in the process, he doesn’t expect to hear from him again. Kojima then slapped his belly on both sides, smiling modestly, and broke wind before exiting the stage.
