I’ve been playing the hell out of GTA IV, WE”VE all been playing the hell out of GTA IV. Every podcast is all about GTA IV. Every TV video game show is all about GTA IV. It’s understandable. Its an outstanding game, not a perfect game, as the exclusive reviews would have you believe, but a pretty friggin good game.
So, why did I spend my time playing Conan last night?
As I sat down for my daily dive into the video game world, I contemplated what to play. My first response was immediately to simply play GTA IV, that was already in the disc tray, I thought: Nah. I need a break.
Luckily, the same day that GTA IV arrived at casa de la Lono, Conan arrived from Gamefly. So I set my online status to offline to head off the inevitable messages from my friends sending me stuff like, “WTF are you doing playing Conan?” or “Is Conan any good?” or “Stop playing that crap and play GTA..” I turned Conan on and turned my brain off to the GTA IV world.
As for Conan, well, it’s a competent brawler. For those that have never played the game, it’s a Heavenly Sword type, God of War linear third person platformer/brawler, with boobies. That’s right. There’s more topless ladies in this game than a Skinamax movie on a Saturday night. It’s not better than Heavenly Sword, or even God of War: Chains of Olympus, but it was mindless fun… Hacking limbs, body slamming baddies and impaling soldiers never really gets old in the game, and the voice acting is above average. If you’re looking for a low cost diversion from GTA IV, I recommend it, if you can find it for less than $20 bucks, or as a rental.
It was boobilicious fun and gave me a break from the GTA IV onslaught. Now that I’ve got that out of my system, I’ve got to get back on GTA IV and take Brucie to the Cabaret.

while I enjoy boobies, I would not recommend the game merely on the nipple quotient. I was merely mentioning the boob factor, which does add to the game’s overall “Adult feel.”

I played conan and was dissapointed, the combat felt kinda disjointed, but then i had been playing the near perfect combat of god of war

I got conan cheap from playswitch. So if you don’t rent it from gamefly, doing a swap on playswitch is great too. I really enjoyed the game. It’s hack and slash fun.
I put 30 hours into GTA4 in the 2 days after release (Being a 3rd year Uni student ftw) and it burnt me out. Thankfully my copy of SSBB arrived from the US Friday to break it up a bit, but I put 8 hours into that the first day I had it. Taking a break at the moment by shifting back to hours in WoW and COD.
Hmmmm, maybe games are addictive…..
