I completely agree re the PS3 headset issue, it was stupid not to tack in a $20 Jabba set or something, and I most certainly wouldn’t use my phone! Finding a decent and cheap enough pair of bluetooth ‘phones would still be hard, Sony have once again backed a format in its infancy.

And Dave, here’s a slap for that take-us-out.

“You can grab a locust guy and use him as a HUMAN shield” Really? A human shield?

Voice commands in MGS are actually realy usefull, because, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE IT- not everybody speaks english. Using these pre-set commands I can be sure, that xsenosszuster436 will know what I said.
He will propably teamkill me and teabag till match is over, but still…

The headset thing about the PS3 is terrible. I don’t even play online. It may as well be offline with bots.

      Re: Headsets in games.

      1) I love multi-player
      2) I love voice chat

      BUT

      3) I hate when you are in a group where there is one rude azz shouting obscenities.

So headsets are ONLY good if you are playing in a group of people you want to talk to. In general I will NEVER use headsets with pickup groups.

      Just my $0.02

In MGO you had to hold select to use the headset, in case you wanted to know ;)
Oh, and Idiocracy is one of my favourite movies, I gave some copies to my friends and they loved it; found out about it on Digg.

@Lono: Michael Pachter… not Michael Patcher. It’s pronounced “pack-ter”. You lose a bit of oomph mocking someone while you’re mispronouncing their (relatively simple) name. ;)

Also, re: his “GTA IV helping the PS3 more than the 360″ comment… according to VGChartz.com, there are 11.79M 360’s in the US and 4.96M PS3’s in the US. That means there is MORE than a 2:1 ratio of systems here, yet the sales were LESS than 2:1 in terms of 360:PS3. Therefore, when discussing ratios or attach rates… GTA IV _DID_ do better for Sony than Microsoft in the US. If you look strictly at “total units sold” then sure, the 360 won, hands down… but that prediction was right when you actually do the math.

@Doc RE: Guitar Hero and Rock Band signing bands exclusively… another thing it prevents is getting the same damned songs on both games. I’m not interested in buying the same songs twice… If I go through the trouble to buy both games, I’m hoping for different music from each. It’s also crappy when one offers a master track and another offers a cover (*cough* Number of the Beast… *cough*)

@Lono: The voice commands in MGO are a Godsend for folks that don’t want to hear 12-yr olds cussing them out… they can spam the same voice command over and over, but you don’t hear any racial/sexual slurs, you don’t get that weird “SWAT team member that hasn’t hit puberty yet” vibe, etc. I admit, I’m _not_ the person to comment on voice chat because I don’t really care for most online multiplayer games, but I’m that guy that doesn’t WANT to talk to Random Person #325 in a match of . My headset is for talking to people I already know and that’s about it. Squad-based shooters where communication is key… not for me.

@Lono: Fellatio practice bar? …in the land of men, in Doc’s garage…. Wow that was a strange 60 seconds.

Doc: “… you will receive your controllers back just as this show is released…”

In Timboktu, where they are waiting for an internet connection in the next 5 years!!!
