Epic growth warrants shrink

Cue the guy who doesn’t know anything about the gaming industry except what he reads on the internet, waxing philospophical about Epic’s new acquisition.

I really don’t get Epic buying up Undertow developer Chair Entertainment. While Chair will get to keep its incredibly creative and excitement-breeding name, it is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Epic.

Yeah, you’ve heard of Chair. They made their name with Undertow, that god-awful game that was 10% creative and about 90% annoying.

Undertow ought to fit in nicely with Epic’s latest incredible titles like…

Um…. like…

You know… that awesome game they made recently

If I were an Epic investor I’d be jumping ship right now faster than gamers abandoning Unreal Tournament 3. Guess there’s more to being a game studio than making good games. Perhaps Chair makes an incredible spinach quiche.

I think someone at Epic got confused. I think they thought they were buying a really expensive entertainment chair.

maybe they liked how Chair made their water…?

It certainly can’t be the characters or story, that’s for sure!

I know Undertow got some mixed reactions (which I never fully understood) but Chair are also developing Empire: Alpha Complex which looks interesting.

I can only really see this as a good thing for Epic, I’ve always criticised them for the lack of depth in their IPs so having someone else onboard who can bring new ideas, to go with Epic’s technical expertise, may produce some interesting games

Is Epic run by Michael Scott?
He wanted to find that chair model awfully bad, before finding out she ran her car into a warehouse.
