“TF2 Medic Achievements”
The Team Fortress 2 updates for the medic and the new map/gametype “Goldrush” arrived April 30th, and I really like the new map. That said, these medics need to stop “Achievement Farming” all over my game.
Now, it seems, every game I join has teams comprised of mostly medics, going on suicidal missions to heal OTHER MEDICS! My class of choice is demo or spy , and while I am quite experienced in the medic role, I get pretty pissed off when I lose because of all of the stupid medics competing for injuries.
My solution? Join them. Instead of taking the game to seriously I sit back and enjoy rushing the other team on dustbowl as one of a dozen medics and sometimes, I have to say, it is a real laugh.
I am now glad they have set up achievement severs for the farmers, but good luck with that as there will always people there to ruin the fun by pointing out that you have no skill and that you’re an achievement whore.
If you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em… or bitch about it.

I spend more of my free time playing this game than any other, and I have to say…the medic whoring is pissing me off.
I am completely opposite from you in the fact that I played medic all the time before the update, and that’s one of my better classes. Yeah, it’s nice having more achievements to prove me accomplishments, but really…7 medics on an 8 man team? That’s just ridiculous.
I think Valve had a great idea that was executed poorly. They should have released at least one or two more class packs along with medic.
My suggestion? Find a clan that has a private server and start playing with them. There are plenty of clans I know (and the one I’m part of) that welcomes friendly players no matter how good or suckish you are. With a private server we can only allow those we want, or put caps on the amount of any certain class. That helps more than anything.
Or you can do what i did and just get rid of the laggy-ass game altogether. Either way seems to work.
@Doc: The achievements are only on the PC version right now, where there isn’t much lag from what I’ve seen.

You’re playing “Public” Public Servers.Check some forgotten “Private” Public Servers and you’ll see that a lot of teams still need a medic.
I’m giving myself a break now because I’ve noticed that there wasn’t a class I haven’t bitched about.
Underpowered Pyros,Ghey Spies,Medic+Heavy Whores,Uber-Criting Soldiers,Overpowered Demomans,Camping Engineers, Scout and Sniper f4gg0ts.

Lol this game is awsome on PC I feel sorry for you 360 owners with the dodgy P2P networking. LAG on PC went with the 56k modem
Anyway the medics may be a pain, but it’s not like before you didn’t 4 engineers on your team building turrets next to each other, usually about 4 spys. I just let them get on with it find a better server.
As i see, it’s back to normal in the TF2 servers, no more 12 Medics on a Team!

TF2 has great net code – it’s not laggy in any way. If you’re speaking from a console point of view, it’s a shame you played a port of a great game.
Its gears all over again : )
