Dave received a scoop in his Sarcasticgamer.com email inbox today from Outer Edge Pictures. According to their email, New Eden Entertainment is in the process of producing a Bioshock animated series… AND we’ve got video. Who knows if this is legit or not, but it’s hella fun to speculate, especially with video goodness accompanying it.
Check out the teaser and the full trailer for the Bioshock inspired animated series, after the jump!
The first video is a teaser trailer that appears to hint that the series may focus on the creation of the Big Daddies from the game.
The next video is the full trailer that hints that the show will be somewhat of a prequel to Bioshock and focus on Andrew Ryan and his rise to power.
I’ve got to say, if they do this R rated style for HBO or Showtime or something, this could really be epic. I know that you’ve all played Bioshock. Are your ready for an animated or a full blown live series?
I know I am.

If they do this right this could be a mind blower. It seems hard to put a live story on Bioshock, though.

A series of fan made films with people who care a lot about the subject matter. But it’s just not canon since the original Bioshock creators are probably not involved.

Ive been following this since the first trailer they posted and I thought it was hoax .. until they released a new trailer yesterday with a Big Daddy in it and a Dr. Suchong voice that is IDENTICAL to the one in the real game!
I think its going be really amazing if they pull it off right…
They say they aren’t involved with Bioshock… but I dunno… it could be a great marketing scheme by 2K Games. Ever since Cloverfield, companies are trying to think up new ways to get attention… they come on as “fans” yet somehow their advertising is beyond professional.. it just doesn’t make sense.

More prequels? Bioshock 2 will be a prequel, and apparently the movie and this supposed TV show is a prequel aswell!

That would be cool if it was on HBO, however I dn’t think you can put a story on BioShock w/o Levine’s approval. If he was onsite to watch over everything and make it quality, this would be a hit.

The only thing that even hints at what the actualy show may look like is the main standing in front of live footage of fish. He’s disproportionate, he’s stumpy. There is no actual animation in these videos.

O.k., something is being missed in all this talk of the quality of the CG. If this is indeed a fanfilm concept, taking the storyline of Bioshock as it’s base, and Bioshock is a big objectivism vs. socialism screed disguised as an fps, then where in Andrew Ryan’s philosophy is there a place for someone who comes along and appropriates something made by another and creates a new product based on it without licensing it, out of admiration for the original product or otherwise?
