Gamespot. Those lucky, rich, connected bastards. I just got an email from friend of the site, Lindsey McNealy, regarding Luke Anderson (Gamespot UK) getting his undeserving paws on Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the Xbox 360. Based on what he’s describing, I do believe I have found my next “lady”. Let’s talk tinkering!
Anderson describes being able to build “an endless array of vehicles” in Mumbo’s garage.
Stop right there. You had me at hello.
Being a game tinkerer of epic proportions that’s really all I needed to hear.
According to the Anderson, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts asks you to build these wild contraptions in order to make it through various challenges. From boats to planes to buggies you’ll have a go at the challenge, and then head back to the shop, when at-first you don’t succeed, to try try again.
From the article:
“You’ll also be able to add some crazy accessories, including springs, which bounce you off the ground if mounted to the bottom of your vehicle or push enemies away if attached to the side, as well as more offensive items, such as cannons, lasers, and missile launchers.”
This crap appeals to the same side of my gamer chi that loves trying to figure out how to get a car onto the top of the Empire State Building in GTA4. I like a game that hands me some tools and says, do it YOUR way.
To make things even better you’ll be able to use your creations and share them with friends over Xbox Live. I can’t wait to take my Whirlyboat against Lono’s Anger-Cycle.
Fans of the Banjo franchise might sigh a little, and say things like “But this isn’t a real Banjo game.”
Personally, I don’t give a damn. This looks hot!
Have a look at the complete mouth-watering write-up at Gamespot.

I was a big fan of the two N64 games. Personally, I like that Rare is trying something different. The guys at Sucker Punch made some pretty radical changes to the gameplay of the Sly Cooper series after the first game. That turned out pretty well.

Props to Rare for making me interested in a 360-exclusive that features more mechanical parts… first gears, now nuts and bolts.
Okay guys, take note… this is the FIRST game in 2008 for the 360 I’m excited for! It’s mid-May. And frankly, I saw the BK footage before Gears 2 so that’s why it’s first… *grins* But seriously, that’s two games. Two more than I suspected it would be. Epic and Rare to the rescue!

GOTY for sure!
I’ll counter the whirlyboat and angercycle with my very own SexyCopter! (trademarked)

Doc, I recommend you go to ebay or something and pick up the original 2 games on the N64 along with an N64 while you’re there. They are the best platformers ever. period.
As for this new one, I loved the previous two, so as I watched the trailer thing on inside xbox, my face slowly turned into that of shock, but then I realised that it’s more BK goodness, so whats not to like.
