Our favorite movie director is at it again. Uwe Boll, known for the masterpieces Bloodrayne and Postal, caught wind that a particular multi-million dollar MMORPG was being made into a movie by Legendary Pictures. Not one to be overlooked when decisions about a video game movies are being contemplated, Mr. Boll went straight to the makers of the game and asked to make it.
What did they say? I’m sure you know, but why not take the jump to find out?
“We will not sell the movie rights, not to you… especially not to you” -Paul Sams, Blizzard Entertainment
Man I love that quote.
A World of Warcraft movie is going to take someone with a lot of passion for the lore and world to even come close to making a good movie, Uwe Boll is not that person. I can’t even imagine what a Uwe Boll WoW movie would be like. Probably something along the lines of logging into WoW and banging my head against the monitor until it explodes, only without the pretty colors.
What do you think? Should Uwe Boll even still be making movies? I know over 200,000 of you think he should stop. (we only need a million, keep it up!)
I just hope Boll hasn’t heard about a game called Call of Duty 4 yet…

This guy is an arsehole, has he got something against games or something? He should quit now.

RK1, he has so many classics under his belt, I couldn’t name them all.
Maybe it’s that nervous tic that makes me slap myself when I think of House of the Dead. OW!

Good for Blizzard. I just wish more game makers had the respect for their art (or alternatively, the understanding that a good movie will make a hell of a lot more money) to tell Uwe Boll and anyone else who wants to make a half assed movie to go to hell.
By the way, while they need someone who is into the lore, they should also have people who are not. A balance between rabid fans and newcomers helps to ensure that they make a movie that is faithful, but is also accessible.

Boll sucks thats for sure, but i have to see Postal before i sign the pettition. But a warcraft movie would be aweful regardless of who made it in my opinion the universe would not translate well into a movie, just like 99% of all other videogame movies.

Mortal Combat had room for improvement, but was a fine movie. I actually liked the short run tv series better.. meh

Mortal Kombat was a good movie. Yes not the greatest, but still a good movie.
No where near as awesome as Super Mario Bros. though. That is one of the greatest movies of all time and you’re all prolly kicking yourself every day if you didnt support it cus they left it at a cliff hanger and you stopped it from getting our sequal >:|

I still can’t believe they had the Super Scope in that movie.

The best thing I have ever seen was when Geoff Keighley asked David Jaffe if he would allow Uwe Boll to direct a God of War movie and Jaffe said no…while standing right next to Boll. Classic.
