Special thanks to Sony’s Jeff Rubenstein, Joystiq’s Justin McElroy, Kotaku’s Luke Plunkett and Leigh Alexander, Destructoid’s Dyson, Brian from Geekpulp, Drew from HCG, and everyone who contributed their ideas to this list.
As most new games are commanding an impressive $60 investment, I set out armed with a Ten Dollar bill and a question for anyone who’d listen.
“What kind of fun can I have with 10 dollars?”
My quest took me from the rough and tumble streets of Destructoid, to the metropolis of Kotaku. I visited New Zealand’s famous Geekpulp, and the blessed realm of the Hardcore Christian Gamers. From all corners of the internet and from right here at Sarcastic Gamer headquarters the suggestions came in.
During my journey I discovered a ton of fantastic little gems out there waiting for me on Xbox Live, PSN, and in dusty bargain bins.
Despite my jaded attitude towards the skyrocketing price of gaming, I’ve found that $10 can buy a hell of a lot of fun… if you know where to look.
So grab a ten dollar bill and let’s have a gander at what I dug up.
Here are the top 10, in no particular order.
