Mighty Mutt is British so I wouldnt think he knew the SG folk that well. Maybe knows him a lot online but I doubt they ever really see each other.

No. The personality behind their characters is based on what I know of the guys through the website & podcast - with a bit of comic license.
That also means that any of the SG community could appear in the comic as well! - Just wait till you meet the rest of the team.
