Just when I thought that I was getting over my head with my present addiction: Pixel Junk Monsters for the PS3, the expansion gets announced. Great. Where’s Dr. Drew when you need him?

The expansion, entitled Pixel Junk Monsters Encore, will have an all new island to explore, with 15 new maps. They’re going to add a bunch of tweaks, although you will have to re-learn your special abilities, which kind of sucks. The ability to run, which is absolutely key, will be taken away. Oh Noes!
As far as the tweaks go, you won’t have to research the Ice Tower, as you’ll have that immediately and the Tesla tower will cost one less jewel to research. They’re also going to add Weather effects, although it remains to be seen as to what effect they’ll have on gameplay.
Once you’ve beaten the expansion, there will be another island suprise waiting for players. What it exactly will be, is under wraps, but if we get any more details, I’ll be sure to let you know… Just as soon as I can pull myself away from the original to do anything productive…

Lono have you played 2-player yet? It’s really fun playing PJM with my son. We’ve still got quite a way to go toward finishing the base game, but I bet we pick up the expansion as well.

Lono and Rothbart both have nothing but props for PJM.. I might actually have to get it. I would have never taken a second look at it had it not been for you two.

@Lono: did you try playing it with the psp/remote control? It’s compatible! and it’s cool to play pjm while lying in your bed.
