Wow, you guys really know how to whip up a frenzy… After your fervent reaction to Ms. Alexander’s rather critical article about our little Boycott, she had enough class to apologize for her remarks. She even had enough guts to ask me a few open ended questions about the Boycott, which she posted on her blog, moments ago.
Straight from the *ahem* horse’s mouth:
“So firstly, I want to publicly apologize to that community. I reached out to the folks at Sarcastic Gamer to try and better understand their concerns — not because some angry people left comments on my original post, because that type of behavior actually proves my negative points, but because I figure that if what I’d said was a bit unfair, it was best to amend it by allowing these folks to explain their point of view.”
“Anyway, though, while I stand by my opinion, there was no need for me to insult people when their viewpoint is certainly as viable as my own, and that was rather wrongheaded of me.
Glad you could see the light Leigh, too bad it only took the collective weight of Sarcastic Gamer’s “obnoxious dweebs” to push you to it.
Seriously though, if you want to leave a comment on her blog about her opinions on the Boycott, be respectful, you bunch of hooligans… Remember, you represent the SG community, act accordingly.

I’m really glad this went over okay… I seriously didn’t want to get into it since I do actually enjoy her writing. I felt a little offended by her first article since I am a member of this community, though. It was a weird feeling.

She did not expect a backlash. heh. She was simply misinformed, but ignorance does not excuse demonising a whole community. Glad to see she tried a little harder the second time.

Sorry but I think that some of the readers should be ashamed of themselves for what they just said on her blog. Talk about an overreaction. Yes some of her comments were out of line but its clear some of you didn’t read the article. She did sorts agree with you on some level after all.
I support your cause guys and I love your podcast but I doubt I’m gonna keep coming here if this site starts becoming a site full of idiots who decide to crucify anyone who doesnt agree with them.

At the end of the week they will just call us ‘gamers.’ They always have and they always will. After all the insults have flown we can all happily revert our gamer status. Oh, craph, need to go play R6V2 now. Damn this being a gamer, way to much fun.

I believe anyone is free to disagree and voice those opinions in whatever medium they see fit. I don’t agree in trashing a whole community with degrading insults because you don’t agree. Isn’t that what you are saying you don’t support, and isn’t that initially what she did? Am I wrong there?

I am glad she apologized for her obviously blatant slander of us as a community. We have the right to choose what we want to support and not support. She should know better than to mess with SG. and try to rain on or parade.
