Humpday Update…. um Update

April 8th, 2008 · 9 Comments

On tonight’s Humpday Update we will be discussing the seemingly INSANE price of Rock Band for our friends across the puddle.  We’ll also spend a VERY BRIEF amount of time discussing the ongoing boycott.  We’ve also got reaction to the new CoD4 map packs, and hands-on impressions of the Dualshock 3 Sixaxis controller for the PS3.  Don’t miss it.

doc .. i know this is a good cause but i dont think it will make a substainial impact on this game
as you know people are idiots
and not that many people in england have ever heard of kotaku etc..
so yes this boycott is for a good cause but going up agaisnt EA is like a mouse trying to get the mile high achievment on COD 4 blindfolded
also people are just ignorant i browsed around G4 and other blogs and many people’s reactions are that this is a little thing and its only because EA are doing this . I mean if we boycott this then does that mean that we would have to boycott other games that offer DLC such as GTA 4 or fable 2
      im just worried
great show by the way guys

DLC is different. Here’s the analogy: One game sells you a cookie, then when you’re done with the cookie, it sells you another piece of the same cookie for a substantially discounted rate. What EA is doing is showing you the whole cookie, charging you for a whole cookie, but breaking a piece off and expecting you to buy the cookie with the piece missing AND then charging you to make you’re cookie whole.

I hope this explains it all… Hmmm cookies… I’m hungry now.

Sure people are gonna say they will boycott it, but in reality alot of people are gonna try it out. I personally won’t due to my experince with EA products.

turbo264, Kotaku is not an America-only website. Kotaku has correspondents the world over, including many in Britain.

I read it on a daily basis from here in Scotland.
Please don’t knock the Brits as gaming nobodies because we know our stuff.

What if we buy the game but not get the dlc? because battlefield looks like a reeeallly good game and i wud never get dlc like that anyway. That would show ea no one wants to buy their scammy dlc and i would still get to play battlefields (:
