Like the much ballyhooed EGM “April Fools Joke” in March, representatives for 1up.com, EGM and other Ziff Davis Media properties have proclaimed that their parent company’s recent Chapter 11 Bankruptcy filing was… ahem… Just an April Fool’s Joke.
Zachary Davis, grandson to legendary founder Bernard Davis explains:
“As you know, our hilariously funny March-April Fool’s Joke was such a hit, we decided to top it… with a, ya know, a Bankruptcy filing. You guys know we’re just kidding…. What’s funnier than Bankruptcy humor? It’s funny, see, like Lego Halo….um… Happy April Fool’s Day? ”
After a freedom of information request, Sarcastic gamer uncovered other “April Fools Jokes” to be played on unsuspecting readers throughout the year by Ziff Davis Media. Of the many, many “jokes,” we did note a “Fake Japanese Invasion” April Fool’s Joke to be played on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 2008, and a “Crash a jet into a building” April Fool’s Joke, that was supposed to be played sometime in early September…
With those “funny” jokes in their arsenal, I wonder if they’ll be able to top them on the actual April Fools Day? I mean, nothing’s better than an April Fool’s Joke that doesn’t happen in April… right?

now im confused. Iits fiction friday. is this a fake story about a fake story? The tag says news…What are the rules again..? Sarcastic?…Indeed.
I thought you guys were required to put the “Fake News” tag on articles that were fake news. This is fake news right?
Apparently this is real news about fake news!
Haha news about fake news ? Things are changing :L
And I am the ass that was falling for it… I thought it was Thursday.
it is a fiction friday article. Come on guys. If it was non-fiction, I would have put that in the title.
sorry for not changing the tags, but be warned, there is no hard and fast rule, those tags are really there for YOUR protection.
I thought this was real until I realized it was Friday, lolz!
But I take no joy in people losing their jobs, I hope they find work real soon
Fiction Friday.
