In a surprising press conference early this morning, Take 2 announced that it was accepting an offer from Namco Bandai for a complete merger. Reports claim that the merger is a direct result of EA leaking information of their offer to also merge with Take 2.
“We told them no,” Says an anonymous Take 2 employee, “But they continued to nag, and nag, and nag. Well now if they want us, they’ll have to take Namco Bandai too. And seriously, who wants Namco Bandai?”
A Rockstar representative was also present at the conference, stated that they were so disgusted with the merger that most of their employees were leaving to form a new game studio. Grand Theft Auto 4 has effectively been delayed due to this announcement.
Another Take 2 employee shed some light on the future of Grand Theft Auto: “Since we now have this license, and no one with enough experience to finish it, we’ve decided to let our new partners take the reigns! Grand Theft Auto IV will be delayed, and reworked to Namco Bandai’s vision. We expect a Spring 2009 release date for Grand Theft Katamari.”
Expect to be rolling a giant ball through a lifelike city in early 2009. Since it will be using the current GTA engine, we expect a compelling storyline, some awesome AI, and some fun with hookers and a big ball.

Really good, but seriously, making fun of Beautiful Katamari got old last year. It’s not that bad of a game. Is it as good as Call of Duty 4? No. But is it fun? Yes. Ok, done being a fanboy until the next BK joke comes along.

I would cry if this was true. Then go and steal the “not so final” build of GTAIV.

Not making fun of Beautiful Katamari. I don’t think I ever mentioned that particular iteration of the series.
I know Katamari’s not a bad game, but it’s fun to poke at. Thinking about a hyper-realistic Katamari game set in Liberty City is a funny idea.
Oh, and Beautiful Katmari was good when it was known as Katamari Damacy on the PS2. We Love Katamari was alright, but Beautiful Katamari was nothing new nor special, just a rehash with pretty graphics meant to milk money.

Just played Me & My Katamari and I think every comment to make fun of it is well deserved!
