March 28, 2008 - In a shocking turn of events, Sony’s CEO Howard Stringer has abruptly resigned and will be replaced by current SCEI CEO Kaz Hirai. The reasons behind Stringer’s resignation were not immediately apparent, but his departure sent shockwaves throughout the entire company and its many subsidiaries.
Upon reporting this news, Newsweek’s gaming correspondent, N’Gai Croal, became so despondent over Stringer’s abrupt and unexplained departure, that he has been temporarily relieved of his duties at Newsweek. Even more surprising, Newsweek announced that N’Gai would actually be replaced by Kaz Hirai.
Shocked at N’Gai’s sudden departure and Newsweek’s apparent flippancy over replacing him, GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley reportedly called a meeting with his employers, just to be sure that Kaz Hirai wasn’t taking over his job as well. To his surpise, Kaz Hirai barged into the meeting, handed Keighley a severance package and appointed himself the new host of GameTrailers TV.
