Thanks to members on the forum being so active about Bacon Salt awareness, here is a paragraph straight from the article, which will be posted in full in approximately two weeks. Try to hold applause and Pulitzer Prize nominations until then.

To sooth the gamer ego is to guide the unnatural flow of adrenaline, intensified with graphical thrills, engaging plot, and intricate detail. Satisfaction is the result of achievement, and the titles that grasp this general concept are more likely to be successful. Developing this feeling of gratification is artificial at root, but can feel organic if executed correctly. The primary objective of developers should always be to create an environment with vicarious effects.

I got a sneak peek at another paragraph… I’m looking for a job elsewhere now… Volkov’s going to put us other writers out of a job. His article covers the next twelve topics I was planning to cover… not only that, he did a better job than I could’ve.

When this article finally gets released. Web journalism of video games will be complete. Period…

From that single article, it would seem to me Volkov is creating the biggest, most flammable fanboy smut ever. lol

      Ummm…
I didn’t achieve anything, like finding out about the upcoming article, in this, so therefore I am not gratified. Looking foreward to the real thing, though.

      AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
You just blew my mind. I hope everybody who reads this article can understand your words as I do, because that could be a huge drawback. Btw, with schools nowadays with their high standards and fancy book-learnin’, even I, a 15 year old understoood the concept of this article. it must be a detailed analysis (hope I spelled that right) of the gaming industry as a whole, with many deviations to gamemakers and their processes. Good luck. There’s a lot of hype for this article, Matt. Don’t let the masses down.

      @ ‘ummm, Yeah…’

they aren’t really complicated words, I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t understand the ‘long’ words like ‘achievement’ or the short words like ‘ego’. But thanks for the more than pompous concern/sarcasm, I couldn’t work out what it was.
