A surprise new release for the XBLA and PSN was just dispersed over the interwebs last night, a 2D breakdance fighting simulator by the guys that brought you Kid ‘N Play, House Party, House Party 2, House Party3 and the criminally underrated Class Act.
Introducing: Kid ‘n Play’s Ultimate Dance Fighter by Capcom! Details, after the break.
Capcom’s reinventing the wheel when it comes to fighters. Not content to hold the market hostage until Street Fighter IV comes out, they’ve dropped an all new, all different fighting game onto an unsuspecting market. Capcom Sales VP Hiroki Mushamitsu explains:
“We see breakdance fighting as an untapped market in fighting games, and we see Kid ‘n Play as the way to break through to younger players that may not be familiar with breakdance fighting, as I was, growing up in the mean streets of Tokyo, having to breakdance fight as a way of life. You see, it’s not who’s ass you kick, but it’s how good you look doing it and I think a lot of gamers will like that. It’s a lot like battle rapping, but with better pants.”
According to the press release, you’ll be able to play initially as Kid or Play, but other unlockable characters will be available including: Ozone and of course Turbo.
Look for this one next week on XBLA and PSN.

I sort of wanted it to be true, but mostly, I was scared.

Good Job Lono!
A Kid N Play rhythm based game would be so much better than DDR. Too bad it’s fiction Fridays.
