Capcom leaks screenshots of Lost Planet: REALLY Extreme Condition

Capcom have been hard at work putting together the sequel to Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. In the original game, players fought ferocious battles in a snowy evironment that approached a white-out in many of the game’s scenarios.”Our research and focus groups told us the same thing again and again. People really like fighting in a blizzard,” said Capcom’s Clyde Rudolph. “So we’re taking that concept to the next level.”

See the exclusive screenshots after the jump.

“One of the things we really wanted to do with this game, more so than we did with Extreme Condition, is to bring to life a truly snowbound hell, where players must fight for every moment that they want to stay alive. The envirnment must become as much of an adversary as the AI,” said Rudolph.

Many thanks to Capcom for providing these incredible images that you will ONLY see on Sarcastic Gamer.

Vehicles:

The addtion of more than 900 new drivable vehicles in LP:REC is a welcome perk. While the all-white paint scheme makes them realistic, it does at times tend to blend in with the snow storm a bit. Judge for yourself.

Wildlife:

The wildlife in LP:REC is incredible. Each creature follows a scripted food chain and reacts appropriately to the presence of a predator or prey. Check out the detail on the white wolf chasing the white rabbit across the snowy plains of the multiplayer map “Ivory Showdown”.

Characters:

We haven’t seen this much detail in a character model in some time. With more than 300 choices of Arctic apparel, you’ll virtually never see another player dresses exactly as your are. This is the character Lono created in our demo of the game. Check out those hysterical white gloves and matching Moscow hat. What a showoff!

While the deeper gameplay mechanics of LP:REC still remain to be seen, one thing is for sure. You really can’t say anything bad about the way the game is looking so far. No matter where in the world you are, the forecast calls for huge winter storms, when Lost Planet: REALLY Extreme Condition releases this August.

Fiction Friday is this thing SG does where they make up a story that may SOUND feasible, but it feasible it ain’t.
The funniest piece of fake news I’ve ever heard from these guys is Jack Thompson allegedly being hit in the face with a shovel.
This comes a close second though, I actually fooled 3 or 4 of my friends into thinking these were ACTUAL screenshots.
The respect of the world goes to these guys xD

      I prefer the second picture.
Those animals are really detailed and if they can really hunt each other the developers have done a good job!!!

REALLY Extreme Condition you are stuck on a planet in a galaxy with no sun and everything is at absolute 0 and all you see is black for the entire game and nothing moves.

or your xbox 360 has had a red ring again But that is the gameplay gimmic find out if your xbox 360 is dead or the game is really running.

Wow. Character models have never looked so good. And that mountian! It must be 10,000 pixels high or something! I can’t wait to play the demo for myself.
