  Methinks since God of War has stayed Sony, it won’t go to 360. I dub this game as “system saver.”

  Methinks a Sony owned franchise developed by SCE Santa Monica will come to the 360 the same day that Halo goes to the Wii.

  @Maul: what kind of language is that you’re speaking? WTF does “do a booter” even mean?

  @Everyone: Keep in mind the “Coming Soon” with the PSP logo on the GOW2 manual turned out to be a “year” long “soon” wait. A lot of folks are speculating GOW3 on the PSP this holiday. If that happens, I’m concerned for multiple reasons…
  1) God of War was such a standout game on the PS3 in part because it was developed well into the PS2’s lifespan when all the tools were mature and the programmers knew how to pull off a ton of tricks. I’m not sure the PS3 is at that point of its lifespan yet (who do I kid, it’s _not_)

  2) The won’t have had the typical 2+ years to develop the game

  3) If they ARE trying this, that means they’re either not putting as much time into it as they have on previous installments or they started back when the tools and techniques weren’t as refined as they are now.

  I think if we see a GOW game in 2008, while it may be better than GOW 1/2, it won’t be the same “likely to be one of the best ever on the platform” games that GOW 1/2 were for the PS2.

  Is that important? Maybe not… gamers can still enjoy a game that is bested the next year, we’ve done it for decades… so the legacy of the franchise may be somewhat tarnished. I know that given my experience with GOW 1/2 on the PS2 and the demo of GOW: CoO on the PSP (I don’t have the full game yet), I’m expecting to be absolutely FLOORED when I get a next-gen GOW game. I _expect_ 60fps 1080p and jaw-dropping action/art/levels/story. GOW = “cream of the crop” to me. That’s _such_ a tall order to pull off in the next 9 months for me to believe it’s possible. So 2009 at the soonest is what I think.

  That reminds me of the Gears of War 2 email from microsoft.

  The title just read GoW2 so I was like “God of war II, what??”
  Man was I disappointed..
  Still a decent announcement though..

  @Rothbart: I would bet my house that they’ve been developing a God of War game for the PS3, since the day the console was announced.

  I’m sure we won’t see a GoW game until 2009, but it will come and it will be glorious!!!

  mmmm I agree with Rothbart here but i seriously doubt this is coming out before 09. God of war is amazing. Its woman are “amazing” in 1080p

  All i have to say basically is that it will be sweet and it better not go to the 360 cause that’d suck
