“The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire. We don’t need no water let the muthaf***a burn!” This is the warning cry for PSP owners around the world.  I’ve got another wacky story about one unlucky PSP owner.

A Michigan boy was burned this morning when his PSP overheated in his pocket and exploded. . His teacher was able to separate him from the PSP, but the damage had been done.

The school was locked down until emergency services could arrive to treat the burns on the boy’s leg. He wasn’t severely hurt, but was taken to the hospital after being treated at the school.

His pants were ruined, his leg burned, his PSP was unsalvagable, and an ass whooping was on deck at home for taking his $150 gaming handheld to school. An all around bad day for this poor soul.

I’m sure his parents won’t be so hard on him after they file the lawsuit.

There’s definitely a lawsuit in that.

Really depends, what are the conditions? As in how did the battery explode? This is, after all, the first exploding battery in 3+ years of the systems history. Makes me wonder if it was a hacked system or even possibly a third party battery or even a Pandora.

Sadly the report wasn’t very descriptive

Its not like the psp needs bad press on top of its sales figures.

Im very confused about this… Did he import some crappy chinese battery or something? Did he overclock it to some unthinkable amount on older custom firmware?

I cant imagine it being terribly hot in michigan right now.. unless the teachers happen to be landed immigrants from the pits of hell and keep the thermostat just above molten metal..

Part humorous, part disturbing.. wholly confusing. I think I’ll look into this.
