With the release of God Of War: Chains of Olympus only a week away, every gamer with a PSP is already climbing up the walls with excitement. Kratos’ first foray onto Sony’s handheld is primed to become the flagship PSP title. Anyone who got their hands on the demo knows that this game already looks fantastic and plays spectacularly.
Find out what Sony is planning to do to promote (better late then never) the title after the jump!
Sony has announced they plan to release a special, deep red PSP with an image of Kratos silk-screened onto the back. The bundle will include God of War: Chains of Olympus, a UMD copy of the film SuperBad and a voucher to download Syphon Filter: Combat Ops. The bundle will retail for $199.99 but unfortunately will not arrive until June.
Not only do you get a copy of the biggest, most impressive PSP title to hit the handheld to date, you also get a copy of Superbad?! I don’t really see how the two go together, but since the movie is also fantastic (if you haven’t seen it your missing out on one of the best comedies of last year) I have no problem with it coming with the deal.
To top this already nice bundle off, we get a free copy of Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, which is the expansion for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (87 on MetaCritic) and Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow (85 on MetaCritc).
This package is just bad ass. Unlike other foolish bundles, put out by Sony’s nemesis, Microsoft, (the ugly green and gold 360 and the severed head that did nothing) everything Sony is putting out in this bundle is quality.
Still, this should have really come out sooner. I’d love to buy this package, but I’m sure as hell not waiting until June to buy the game, or get myself a new PSP Slim.

Apparently it’s nowhere near as epic as the PS2 games, and shorter than Danny Devito after a week on Mars.

If I didn’t already have a slim, this would be the one! It’s a bonus that the bundle is actually worth it, though like you, not sure how God Of War and Superbad seemed like a good side by side. No complaints, but odd nonetheless. My only beef is that it’s yet another bundle that has no memory card (that I know off), which is kinda sad. Even if they were cheap and packed in the 32 meg, at least people could open it up and play, as well as save, but now people have to shell out extra just if they want to save. This is what kept the Daxter Bundle impossible to find (as it came with a gig memory card), while the Star Wars bundle was found everywhere aplenty. At leasts, that’s how I saw it.

oh and if anyone is considering getting a psp, make sure you get a 4gig card or biggr (i heard they are releasing an 8 gig one)
because carrying around a couple of films, a few demos and half a series of lost is an absolutley brilliant companion on the train
