* Editor’s Note: Animathias is a new contributor to Sarcastic Gamer and a Call of Duty 4 Expert. I’ve asked Animathias to give me his tips on how to take your game to the next level in the best multiplayer experience anywhere: Call of Duty 4.

This is the third installment in our Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer Guide Series. You can check out the Newbie Guide HERE, and the Intermediate Player’s Guide HERE.

Think you’re a big boy? You think that just because you’ve gotten a few headshots through a wall, that you’re some kind of a hotshot?

Wrong.

You may have gotten past the Newbie stage, and dominated your way through the Intermediate guide. That doesn’t mean you’re ready for what’s next. I, the Call of Duty 4 Grim Reaper will give you the tips and tricks to take your game to the next level.

Let’s do this, Marines.

Welcome to the late game. You’ve made it to level 32 and you’ve laid waste to countless people to get there. Don’t get comfortable just yet. This is where the game really opens up to you. You can either take the safe route you’ve used to get this far, or you can develop additional strategies to get the drop on your enemies and take that next step.

We’ll start with the perks and weapons you’ll be unlocking during these last few levels.

Level 37 - Here you’ll be granted use of the wonderful G36C Assault Rifle. For many, this is the M16’s replacement. It can take your foe down as quickly as an M16, but it also sports a full auto shot to mow down the line of enemies coming out of a door. It doesn’t fire the three shot burst as fast or as accurately as the M16, but the full auto may be just what you need when your defending B on Countdown, when the sh!t hits the fan.

The weapon has decent to great iron-sights, making it a killer when you combine it with the grenade launcher. I suggest obtaining the Red Dot Scope (RDS) as soon as possible for this bad boy. The silencer and ACOG scopes are not recommended. With Stopping Power and the RDS, you’ll soon forget about the dominant M16. (until you get killed by it again.)

Sorry but I cant really agree with this, you obviously dont play hardcore or clan matches or even different game types for that matter.

I mean M16 is a powerful gun, and good in a number of situations but most maps you are likely to be rushed and owned by the guy with the mp5, and please, please for the love of god dont adovocate more noob tubing and p90 whoring!

Really, play yourself some clan scrimmages like the pros of cod and find out all sorts of new stuff about the weapons, like why the M4 is most widely used gun, and how each gun has its place, but the M16 should only be used in clan matches when you have someone to save your ass, and if you advocate noob tubing, chances are you dont

you cant have made many friends on cod using the noob tube, play a couple rounds of clan scrimmages with resricted classes and appreciate the proper guns, getting a 3:1 k/d using an mp5 red dot stopping power bandolier and extreme conditioning is much more impressive than with a P90 stopping power martyrdom and 3x frags.

Still love sarcastic gamer and cod4 but i thought you advocated gaming using skill

      rant over :P

    • 2 clstirens // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:20 am

Yup, there’s nothing more hardcore like restricting weapons.

Seriously, His strategies are good, and they will get you the kills. Sure that results in “noob tubing” (which I, personally, don’t do), but is that not a successful tactic?

Something in a game that you find gives someone a distinct advantage over you? Can you not cope with said P90 stopping power, grenade popping “n00b” (ok, grenade spamming feels rather noobish, but access to 3 frags is tactically sound)

    • 3 Monkeyboo2 // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:23 am

ive gotta agree with the guy above.
The noobtube is banned in all major tournaments and should not be encouraged until it is balanced.
Also, i think you overate overkill, especially when you express how great the deagle is. Why not keep stopping power and 1 shot with you Barret and 2 shot with your deagle? If you feel the need to pick up an mp5 as you go along, do so, but whether its worth a perk when you have the deagle or any other pistol tbh…
Red dot sight for most guns is extremely optional, a silencer tends to be the better choice. I find it wierd how many people use the red dot sight when ironscopes are perfectly sufficient and silencer has a barely noticable range forfeit.

      Rant over :)

    • 4 Hollowcow // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:26 am

If it is in the game everybody should be able to use it. Restricting a weapon just because it is useful is ridiculous.

    • 5 Vendetta PRIME // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:43 am

I’d have to disagree with recommending the P90. It ’s good up close, and that’s about it. It has the worst recoil and little dinky bullet damage. I’d rather kill someone with one burst from the M16 w/Double Tap or Stopping Power than have to hold down the trigger for 10 seconds while the P90 struggles to take down one person. In my opinion I think it’s important to configure your weapons to KILL as quickly as possible. All that requires is accuracy and stopping power. Playing hardcore modes will increase your skill level significantly and will give you a much better idea of what weapons are the most efficient.

    • 6 Lono // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:47 am

This isn’t a “clan match” guide JDowdall. This is a guide for everyone, not just people that play in specific match types. Sorry you disagree with him, but I’ve got to say, the M4 is THE most overrated gun in the game. It’s stopping power is a joke, I stop using that gun the minute I obtain the ACOG.

You stick with your MP5, I’ll stick with the M16.

    • 7 HeavenlyYeti // Feb 4, 2008 at 11:54 am

The Deagle is the Halo 1 Pistol, I’m telling you!

    • 8 JDowdall // Feb 4, 2008 at 12:29 pm

i spose u do have a point lono (i may be biased by your various articles but still) it is a game guide.

But still, i feel its better to get lots of kills with a basic gun that everyone can use, rather than owning someone with a gun that is fairly overpowered.

At the end of the day a game is about having fun not about completely owning someone who has just started with a P90 and added perks that result in total noobage.

    • 9 JDowdall // Feb 4, 2008 at 12:34 pm

and i’ll agree with that point about hardcore, it does increase your skill when you go back to standard, just remember that u do have to add some perks to make up 4 more health in standard

As far as a full on guide goes, its a bit unbalanced, focusing on some guns rather than others (sry 4 double post)

    • 10 Vendetta PRIME // Feb 4, 2008 at 12:40 pm

On a sidenote, I tried out the Dead Silence perk for the first time yesterday, and LOVED it. I created a Ghost class using the G36C with silencer, UAV Jammer, and Dead Silence. Then I hopped into a hardcore team deathmatch and had some fun testing this out. The first trial took me a while to get used to—(had to get used to iron sights again…) but seriously, Dead Silence is awesome. Using this perk strategically will allow you to maneuver freely and confidently without fear of giving away your position. Plus, if you’re playing with 5.1 you will have a significant advantage over the enemy just from having your ears free of your own noise. I actually played a couple of matches where I was actually able to shoot someone down, then walk right up to his partner and stab them without them even knowing I was there. I also had fun messing with the people using Last Stand because they were completely clueless as to where I was. Definitely recommend this perk if you tend to be a more aggressive player who moves around constantly.

    • 11 animathias // Feb 4, 2008 at 12:45 pm

The guide is from level 32 and up - and 5 pages long, there was only so much space. It’s also opinion. There are many facts up there, but it’s not going to fit everyone’s play style. If you’re playing hardcore Search and Destroy, your play style is going to be radically different than the guy playing Ground War or Mercenary Team Deathmatch.

    • 12 JDowdall // Feb 4, 2008 at 1:07 pm

And lookie here, m4 and g36c have same stats :D except the g36c has the illusion of less recoil due to the animation :D exactly the same gun

    • 14 Lono // Feb 4, 2008 at 1:29 pm

@jDowdall: That chart is ABSOLUTELY WRONG.

Just by the plain reading of the chart IN THE GAME you’d see that the M16 and G36 have the same exact damage value. That chart you posted is blatantly wrong.

      Here’s a different chart to reference: http://www.ick.bz/pdfs/cod4_weapons.pdf

Now I understand your posts, you’ve been basing your play style on wrong information. I’m glad to see SG set you down the right path.

    • 15 Tweep // Feb 4, 2008 at 1:49 pm

Animathias, I thought the guide was really well done. I’m a player who just got to level 38 and wasn’t petering out but was kinda slogging a bit. Now all I want to do is go home and fire up COD4 like you wouldn’t believe and try your tips out. I agree with the G36 completely, I leave the M16 at home until someone kills me with it more than once in a match and then out it comes. Thanks for the tips guys. Between this and the intermediate one (where Lono baptised me to the world of the M16) I have enjoyed the game more than I would have tinkering on my own.

    • 16 haydenkayne // Feb 4, 2008 at 5:28 pm

there is nothing better than noob tubing a guy from all the way across the map through a window. its like shooting hand grenades out of a potato gun

    • 17 Beezs // Feb 4, 2008 at 6:52 pm

This guide is okay, not great but it points new players in the right direction.

And those charts… both are pretty, but that’s it. They’re missing the multipliers, range limitations (in meters, 9.5 just doesn’t cut it), and suppressor information (like how the AK-47 drops 20 pts of damage when using a suppressor/red dot sight).

And any “challenge/scrimmage/battle” that restricts any weapon is just plain retarded. If you can use one weapon well, but suck with another, you’re a terrible player in my eyes. Give me any weapon to use in this game and I’ll kill with it.

    • 18 unohisname // Feb 4, 2008 at 8:53 pm

This guide helped me with my cod4 skill I played with animathias he gets crazy kills I always wonder how he did it and now I know thank animathias.

    • 19 Cody // Feb 5, 2008 at 2:10 am

I just dont get it…why does everyone choose the prestige mode after level55?
In lets say 4 months from now nearly everyone except the newbies will have that boring golden cross in front of his nick…imagine the “best of” list with the first 200 000 Players. all of them having the same type of “medal”…boring…I ‘ ll keep my 5 silver stars forever to stick out of the masses ;)

    • 20 Phoenixdive // Feb 5, 2008 at 3:18 am

That’s why I’ll stick with the red star once I get to prestige 9.
As a rather experimented player, I disagree with some of the points offered here… but they will point new players in the right direction.

      P.S. Is 1.95 K/D ratio seriously that good? mine’s 1.94…

    • 21 Tweep // Feb 5, 2008 at 8:43 am

19 kill streak lastnight, love you guys

    • 22 RK1 // Feb 6, 2008 at 11:05 pm

Everyones playing style is different but one thing always remains the same. Real men play Hardcore!!!!!!

    • 23 Vote4Drizzt // Feb 8, 2008 at 10:23 am

I agree with some, but my main point would be that NO weapon sucks, they are suited to different players, For example, the Ak-47 is HUGELY powerful, but the M4 is WAY more accurate, so if you wish to play close range Ak>M4 but if you intend any Range, the reverse is true.
G3 is much more accurate than the M14, but not more powerful, I have used both, and the G3 makes a better outright gun, but with stealth the M14 is a better gun.
My point is that you cannot say a gun sucks because it doesn’t suit you, some people like a different style, I know my Silenced Uzi with Stopping Power made a serious dent in the enemy scores.

    • 24 TCB Havoc // Feb 12, 2008 at 12:24 pm

Umm…. The G3 sucks? I didn’t get that memo. I find that gun amazing with the red dot sight and stopping power. you can shoot it almost as fast as the M16 3 round burst but it is sooo much more accurate!

    • 25 The Saint // Feb 14, 2008 at 1:41 pm

I found some useful tips from all the articles, but I was hoping for more practical tips and tactics pertaining to the nuances of multiplayer. All the articles basically do the same thing, which is explain the strengths and weaknesses of the weapons. I’m not the best COD4 player, I’m ranked 27 and being a family man I don’t have the time to spend several hours a day learning some of the nuances of the game. For example, I could be wrong in this observation, but when peaking around corners I find it advantages to already be aiming down your sights. While this slows you down considerably, you’ll also most likely get your shot off faster than the guy running down the hall towards you. Also, I would’ve loved to get some tips on basic aiming principles for moving targets, distant targets, close targets, multiple targets or learning how to gauge the optimal range for which it wouldn’t be necessary to aim down the sights to be accurate.

    • 26 A cod 4 noob // Feb 15, 2008 at 5:02 am

i disagree with the guy who says that P90 sucks. P90 is a very accurate gun, if u know how to control it. with the stopping power, 3x frag, and martydom ull dominate the game (unless ur playing against hazor). ive tried the M4 but for me it is not very good coz im too used to the p90’s 50 round mag not 30. i know its noob but the p90 close range is best for spraying and praying. with the red dot the p90 can do short, medium and long range, as long as you know how to fire in bursts.

    • 27 Persuasionx69 // Feb 15, 2008 at 6:11 pm

Iv Played for a while and stumbled on this guide read all 3 not a bad guide it does help the (Fresh Meat) with Theory behind the game but does not offer you a Tactical View nor does it allow people to make a True desicion u gave more Info on some guns then others but it does make some Good Points.

And ALL i have to say is the M16A4 is the most versatile and Devastating weapons you will ever use besides the M14 the M16A4 major advantage is the burst people hate it But why u Fire 3 Clustered shots everytime you click once your Oppenant has to worry about bullets plus Aim at a moving target while Shooting eather Single Fire or using a Full Automatic, this is were the M16 rains supreme it has by my Opinion One of the best Midrange to Farrange Capabilities with Practice u can Pick Snipers off with the Reddot in about 2 Clicks of R1

P.s should of put all the Guides together could of covered alot more

    • 28 AD // Feb 16, 2008 at 1:13 pm

I prefer the M4 to M16 for one simple reason. The M16 is really good on maps like Overgrow since you have a lot of range, but on smaller maps you get owned up close.

Why didn’t u mention Shotguns? I have been trying out W1200, 3x frag, sonic boom and martyrdom and it rules for maps like Bog (which i hate), Crash and Crossfire.

    • 29 AD // Feb 16, 2008 at 1:15 pm

Oh yeah and the P90 isn’t cheap. Please stop with the whole noob tube, frags are cheap. Sure i hate the noob tube as much as anyone but i have yet to see someone actually be in the top three on TDM.

    • 30 jk // Feb 19, 2008 at 12:22 am

u guys keep saying p90 this m16 that but i use the rpd with grip and juggernaut and martydom i mean who cares wat someone uses they use wat their good with y u ppl say other ppls guns noobs and urs the best eh? let em use wat they want jeez

    • 31 Blink // Mar 4, 2008 at 9:43 pm

Martydom is most likely one of the worst perks ever, and I still wonder what the geniuses at Activison were smoking the day they came up with the A$$NADE. Why use a perk that doesn’t come into play until youre dead? Use a perk that keeps you from dying! Common Sense the longer you’re alive the more kills you can get.
Besides it’s banned in TWL and CAL matches.

As far as guns and perk’s go overkill is not as useful as you portray it. especially when you have a .50 cal pistol at your disposal.
And for guns sure the m16 and G36 are good, but as far as stopping power goes the AK-47 is unbeatable, as long as you can control the kick short bursts for those long range shots are recomended. With assault rifles though there is no equal to the M4 it’s accurate, with very little recoil. I have stopping power and deep impact on mine and thats what gives me those 10:1 KDR’s on maps like showdown.

If you’re playing in a server with little people though the MP5 with stopping power and dead silence is unbeatable, excellent for running and gunning and you’d be surprised how much you can sneak up on people with your quiet feet.

    • 32 mac // Mar 12, 2008 at 4:12 pm

like jk said i use the rpd but i use grip, stopping power and deep impact and sometimes i use g36c with dead silence uav jammer and claymores (2) its pretty good for the level with the train tracks

    • 33 mac // Mar 12, 2008 at 4:13 pm

      also a silencer

    • 34 JRK // Mar 22, 2008 at 7:40 am

I agree with most of the points given, except one. Overkill is a two way thing! If you are a ’shoot the badass motherfck out of evryone’, then overkill is the biggest waste of time you’ll ever come across. However, if you are a patient sniper / long range mg, then overkill is great.

    • 35 lolipop // Mar 24, 2008 at 6:13 am

ill just carry on using my m14 and killing all of you in half a second..(i counted)

    • 36 Bogan Basher123 // Mar 27, 2008 at 4:43 am

evry gun is good using the right perks n skillz :D but my favourite noob killa right now has 2 b the m1014 shotgun with steady aim, stopping power n the grip. i suggets u try it :D (just dont zoom in) oh n i have 2 say cod 4 is the best game i have come across for awhile i have hired it out 3 times waiting for pay day!

      1. Get yourself a clan, play pcw’s and stop playing om them pubs
      2. play on servers with pam on it
      3. get demo’s from major COD 4 teams like Dignitas,TLR,Roskilde, tek 9 and watch them

these tips and tricks saved my ass countless times, and the 63 does NOT suck, its a good gun for all games, just have a fast trigger finger and your good. i can also give better tips though. this guide is good, but does not cover everything.
      email me for better tips.

    • 41 Lono // Apr 6, 2008 at 2:31 am

We’ve got a ton of tips in the other guides, so If you’re hating on this one, check out the newbie or intermediate guide and let us know in the fourms.

    • 42 Xenodius // Apr 24, 2008 at 6:32 pm

The Skorpion with a silencer (Dont let the range fool you, its nigh unlimited) is about the best SMG out there– two hit kills (HC), complete silence, and unbeatable accuracy make it wicked deadly.

the G3 is the best of the single-shot medium-short range 1-hit kill assult rifles, along with the m60 (if you can stand to pick people off one shot at a time).

The m21 with an ACOG scope and sleight of hand is a fantastic medium-long range weapon as well– it fires faster, does more damage, and has less kick than the m14. You should be able to empty a whole magazine in at least 1.5 seconds, and hit a chest-sized target from 150 yards.

The m9 is perhaps the best pistol, with precise ironsights, large magazine, and 2 shot kills along with the capacity for a silencer. Depending on your style the deagle may be better.

The m4 with double tap and steady aim is better than a shotgun.

The Barret isn’t worth using unless your in normal mode, if you’re in HC use the m21 or even the g3.

All of the above applies to Hardcore mode.

    • 43 Zapawaf // Apr 30, 2008 at 11:07 am

One of my favorite weapons for close quaters would have to be p90 double tap, with 3x stun grenades and martyrdom. I’ve also been told that using the perk Sonic Boom and Martyrdom increases your droped grenades range and is deadly. One of my favorite guns has to be the m60 with scope, deap impact, 3x frags and stopping power is brutal

    • 44 pwner // May 1, 2008 at 9:34 pm

      why doesn’t anyone use shotguns?

    • 45 Kaska // May 14, 2008 at 2:54 pm

you only have 2 shotguns, one is pump-action (rather slow and useless if low acc and if opponent have increased health) and that semi-auto SG with low capacity.

      so, quite useless and noobish

      P90 FTW!!!

    • 46 AJM // May 22, 2008 at 6:13 pm

iron sites are all right but when you aim it blocks half the screen while red dot on the other hand you can look through the glass and still see most of the screen i just wish u could have red dot+silencer

    • 47 PanzerGrenadier // May 28, 2008 at 5:51 pm

      i hate you all

      i use an M60 with a grip, and a G36c with a silencer,

i cant be doing with nubfags running around with a red tiger M16, or a stupid ‘’silenced P90”.. you’re not GOOD at the game, because it doesnt require skill.

as the guy above said ”the P90 is the best gun at close quarters for spraying and praying”.. most of the people who leave comments on this article ruin my online experience.

    • 48 Laneman // Jun 2, 2008 at 5:08 am

The G36c is the best assault rifle in the game, the M4 and M16 are badly overated and so boring but if you like them use them.
The p90 and noob tube are awesome, they get you kills so who cares if someone calls you a noob when your on 23/5.
Hardcore games use the G3 theres no better gun.
All you people who are moaning about this guide, why dont you try and make a better one.
Overkill is only good on hardcore, it takes far longer to kill your enemy without stopping power. Plus the Deagle +last stand will get you loads of kills.

    • 49 Diablodays // Jun 4, 2008 at 2:41 pm

i use the noob tube and i goota say it works, sure its cheap and everyone hates it but i love getting cheap kills because to me any enemy kill is a good kill, g36c is a great gun plus if you got overkill add a m21 give your g36c a noob tube and you will own in hardcore search and destroy

    • 50 ahizzeah // Jun 8, 2008 at 4:08 pm

this guide was obviously written only for people who play on saturday afternoons when all the noobs and little kids are playing. The only aspect of the guns you talk about are their stats. Nothing to do with the various strategies each gun has. It would be much more helpful if you talked about the different oppurtunities about when to use silencers vs red dots

    • 51 Decimis // Jun 10, 2008 at 12:21 pm

This is not an ‘expert’ guide. It is a waste of your time.

I could talk for days about strategies to suit playing styles.

I could talk for days about what styles and guns work well on what maps.

I could talk for days about how to recognize enemy stratagies and tactics, and how you can make in-game adjustments to counter your enemies.

I hope no one was paid for this pathetic attempt at an ‘expert guide’.

    • 52 PJ // Jun 10, 2008 at 1:01 pm

      Okay, couple of things.
I don’t care what anyone says, i’m fine using a silenced MP5 with stopping power on any map.

All you faggots that say skip Bog are gay. That’s the only map I use a different weapon on, an M16 with a RDS and Stopping Power, and I tear up.

Sniping is for pussies. Haven’t used a sniper rifle in a single match since the day I got the game. And i’m doing just fine without them.

i have to disagree with all the guys above because i think it was a great guide. i used to totally suck at CoD4 but ive read this and now i’m still pretty bad but my total kills and deaths are almost equal now!.. thanks lono and animathias.

    • 54 jackyfighter of the PS3 // Jun 18, 2008 at 8:23 am

The whole point of Call of Duty 4 is to be different in your own way. I’ve seen golden crosses with the mp5 who pwned.

Anyways, you didn’t mention anything about cage match(where you can take turns getting hits for challenges if you have a mic) or Team Tactical(the fastest way of ranking up probably). The M16 has taught me a lot of stuff mostly accuracy and patience. I killed an enemy accross the map of Countdown(Literally) with some elevation and the M16 red dot scope.

    • 55 Slick // Jun 23, 2008 at 4:20 pm

I just started playing CoD4 on Saturday. I am not new to FPS or Online gaming, however I found this very helpful. In the 7ish hours I have played I am currently level 19.

Realizing I needed to dive in deeper to my weapons selection I did some searching. Now I have something to strive for (aside from unlocking the content) and a focus.

      Thanks for the guide. d(^_^)

It’s a guide. Guide does not mean “Do exactly this or else you suck.”
And anyone that says someone’s a fag or noob for using some weapon or perk in the game obviously needs to figure out how to stop getting killed by that guy. I hate getting killed by random grenade tossing but I learned that I can do it too. A kill is a kill. Nobody plays FPS to learn tactics and strategies for the real world. We play for kills. Top spot on the board. You want to learn tactics and strategies for real world war, join the military. They’re always looking to teach.
And I don’t watch the Kill Cam to see where the guy that killed me was. I watch because some of the ways I die are pretty damn funny. Nothing better than my body flying into the air from a direct hit to the chest by an RPG. That is comedy. :)

Ive read several times about overkill being mainly a sniper’s perk. My most successful class used the W1014 shotgun with grip as primary, the G36 with red dot as secondary and the overkill/ dead silence perks. With this setup I could drop targets with the G36 at medium/long ranges and if i wanted to clear out a building or get close, the shotgun/knife combo did the trick. It went far beyond the realm of ownage…which ultimately was its downfall. It was TOO good..game got boring so i changed it up after i got the golden shotty.

As far as stopping power being a standard, use for all perk…its a good perk, very useful however people grow way too dependent on it. If you truly want to open yourself up to new tactics, experiances and levels of gameplay, practice without it. Use the other perks available. then when you get uber good without it, think of what you could do when you decide to go back to it, if you decide to.

And as for the noob tube, P90, spraying and praying and Juggernaught. I use the P90 once in awhile, its a good gun to use. Nothing nooby about it. If you’re killed by it, then dont be the noob getting killed. Noob tube…well its called the noob tube for a reason. Ive used it only once and found it very distasteful. Its way too easy (at least for me) to kill someone with it. Aim in general direction of target and fire. It takes more skill to consistanly kill with bullets than a noob tube, much more.

Ive heard several people whining about getting killed because of spray and pray. Well, its a cute name but its actually called hip-firing which is legitimate and not “nooby.” Some guns simply call for hip-fire (P90 anyone?

And as for the infamous juggernaught perk…this one is iffy. In my own opinion, while a person using it can be a slight annoyance, they can still be taken down nonetheless. i do it without using stopping power all the time. Yet i hear time and time again people flipping out over someone using it..even if that person wasnt lol.

The only real “noobs” are those who cry, whine, moan, complain and insult another simply because of the gun or perk they use. I was called a noob in a game for killing a guy with an M9 over and over! Really, if you cant handle the heat of this game, go play monopoly with your parents.

So many haters here. look guys if you getting beat down with the noob tube or the people doing hip fires, stop whining coz your just pissed you cant do crap about it so suck it up and pay them back.

if you think you’re better than the players with what you call “noob style” then why are you getting fragged anyway? coz you think your gonna look cool if your doing it the hard way with all your sophisticated manners. well guess what, you’re just making things complicated on yourself.

It doesnt matter if you kill with a swift slash of a knife or a end to end map snipe. a frag is a frag. and we all have our own ways of doing it so stop whining and live with it. zzzzzzzzz

For me, the thing I don’t like about COD4 is that it lacks goals to strive for. This isn’t true the first time or two through the ranks. It is fun to upgrade weapons and switch up strategy and and classes. However, on your third time through or so it gets redundant. I think it is boring to complete the same challenges and use the same guns that you really don’t even like just to change it up. And I really don’t think a golden gun is cool, especially with how much time it requires achieve.

The one thing Halo 3 had which COD doesn’t was the ranking system. It was an endless battle to increase your rank, unless you are one of the few to achieve 50. Some days you would team up with a few good players and strive to rank up. I enjoyed that like a lot of others. You always could go higher and get better. What used to anger me was in team slayer you would get punished for loosing and it may not have been your fault.

Thats why initially I likes Call of Duty - you rank up regardless the outcome of the match. But the for that very reason I hate it now because its BORING! Anybody can get through the ranks if you play enough, the ranks mean zip. The best around are the best (rank wise) in large part because they invest obscene amounts of time playing.

That rank system was how you measured yourself against others in Halo and it was accurate. Also because there is no penalty for loosing in COD, you get a lot of kids that f**k around and team kill. It ruins the experience and if your not absolutely in love with the game, it leads to boredom after 6 months of owning it.
