BREAKING NEWS:

A chartered bus full of game developers, on their way to a pre-GDC event, overturned on I-95 just outside of Springfield, Virginia earlier today. While at least a dozen of those onboard were severely injured, we’re told none of those casualties included anyone important. One eywitness explains.

The bus seemed to start sliding and slammed through the guard rail and slid down an embankment where it flipped on its right side. Fortunately that’s where all of the staff from Codemasters were sitting, so they caught the brunt of the impact. They broke the fall for the guys from Activision and EA… thank God. If the bus had flipped the other way,we might have lost some really talented people.

Codemasters made a statement just moments ago that the accident would have no effect on the release of their newest title, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

From that statement: We’ve already spoken with the folks at ITT Technical College, who assure us that they can provide us with comparably talented individuals from their TV/VCR repair program, who should be more than capable of finishing this game. So this is not an issue.

Much like Turning point, the injured Codemasters developers were listed in critically-flawed condition.

Seeing as what happened at a university yesterday this might not be in good taste today.

Unfortunately this news fake, but I wish it was so true, mainly the part about Activision. Maybe if they were all gone, this crap of a game wouldn’t be made.

Wowzers! That’s harsh on the Codemasters devs, Doc :-)

It really disappoints me that Turning Point is a crap game. The idea of the story is interesting and it really could have been something great. I’ll probably still try to rent it and see if they really fix the crap in the demo. After playing the demo, I thought “How the heck are they gonna fix this pile of dung?” I guess we’ll see if it really gets redone.
