Here’s a piece of one of the strangest instant message conversations I’ve ever had:

Digitalistic: I noticed your location said Michigan Tech, then I realized your name is Matt Schmidt.

I think I know you.

Are you a sophmore?

I am :) Who might you be?

I was your lab partner in the networking class.

What a small world. Although we probably didn’t know each other, because we haven’t attended half the semester’s classes. He played Rock Band, I played Call of Duty 4. He’s a console noob, I’m a real gamer.

Somehow, I think we can get over our differences, as long as he lets me mooch off his Rock Band.
