If you’ve played the Turning Point: Fall of Liberty Demo or even read my review, you’d know what a piece of trash it is. Bad weapons, stupid bad guys, poor controls… this game has the crap trifecta.

Well, the team at Spark Unlimited has heard your complaints. Find out what they said, after the jump.

The devs at Spark Unlimited claim that the actual release will have fixed a multitude of problems that plagued the demo, including:

Optimized targeting and movement: Optional control settings have been refined to alleviate sluggishness in the slowest setting and the ‘on ice’ feeling at the faster settings. Also, a user-defined soft lock has been added which means that controls can be set so once an enemy is hit with a bullet the crosshair will ‘stick’ to the target.

Refined AI behavior: The dynamic intelligence and pathfinding for enemies has also been enhanced. The ‘hot point’ based system should add to Turning Point’s replay experience.

Ammo levels and grappling optimized: Up until final submissions, the team has been listening to playtest feedback and doing everything possible to create a ‘civilian at war’ feeling. The end result is an experience more visceral than the demo, relying less on repeated ammo refills, and more on the grappling and the hand-to-hand combat.

Final Mip-mapping and texture levels: The art team has also been able to further optimize lighting, textures, and effects throughout the title.”

I’m just glad they fixed the ammo levels, because, that’s all that really matters…

I mean, come on, how much different could the actual game differ from the demo. It won’t and that’s too bad. I have no idea how to make a video game, but, at some point, did they even bother to play it?

Why make yet another WWII game? Even if it’s set in NYC, it’s still the same old crap. Same old weapons. Same old bad guys. The worst part though, was that they not only used tired ideas, but put a bunch of crap gameplay and graphics into the game as well.

I’ll pass. I don’t need another Hour of Victory.

The developers have done a big thing by responding out to the critisim. Unfortunatly it wont work for them. The demos crap, the games crap.

Yeah, they don’t have the time or the recources (without a Timeshift-esc re-dev) to fix that much.

I don’t think that their idea is too tired. At least it takes place on our soil for once. (though the death of the WWII genre is WELL needed)

Never played the Demo. But from what I’ve heard from friends, it’s not very good.

The faster setting having an “on ice” feeling? That’s an unfortunate double meaning. :s
