Game makers don’t want to hear that their new game that they spent tons of money developing is anything less than a 9 out of 10. Anything less hurts them. Not only in pride, but also in the wallet. A bad review can cost a company millions.
In the wake of Gamespotgate and now EGM being restricted by Ubisoft, Sony Sports, and Midway for their reviews, a new era in gaming journalism is rising. One that Sarcastic Gamer is happily at the forefront of.
See the revelation after the jump.
The new Sarcastic Gamer philosophy regarding video game reviews will be as follows, “If you don’t have something nice to say, make something up.” From now on the glass isn’t half empty, it’s almost full. Bad mouthing games and writing parody songs about them will no longer be tolerated here. Instead of trying to shoot them down, we are going to help prop them up.
The new game grading scale will now be from 9.0 to 10.0. The 9.0 rating will represent awesome games while 10.0 will represent games that will melt your face off with their greatness. You may want to write this down so you will know just how good the games we review on Sarcastic Gamer are. For example, Shadow Run is easily a 9.0, Kane & Lynch is a 9.1 and Assasin’s Creed is a 9.5.
This is merely a measure to make sure that we do not get “restricted” like EGM. We love the tons of free review copies of games that we get. Because of our new policies, I have six, count ‘em, six copies of Acme Arsenal just waiting to be played. Selling out was the best thing we ever did. I can’t wait to get my hands on a free copy of Shadowrun!
Love ya FASA!!! ![]()

Dave, don’t forget to add something extra (say 0.2 additional points) if the game’s got great water!
