Darth Vader and Yoda will be playable characters in Soul Calibur 4. (One apiece for Xbox 360 and PS3)
All I can say is WTF.
There is no other phrase in the English language that better describes this ungodly sacrilege.
Why these two worlds should never collide after the jump!
Seeing Star Wars in Soul Calibur just FEELS wrong.Star Wars is too much of a world of its own to be included. Besides, it’s just completely bizarre to throw sci-fi characters into a mystical setting such as SC. The lightsabers alone would render any other weapon useless! Ok, fine, let’s throw that out the window, whatever. It’s STILL incredibly stupid to have just Darth Vader and Yoda. It’s a creative idea, poorly implemented, and in many ways half-assed.
If you’re going to make a fighting game with Star Wars characters, do it the right way. Remake STAR WARS: MASTERS OF TERAS KASI! It was an all Star Wars fighter for the PS1, but it was terrible. Do it right this time. Keep the cool collection of characters, but give it the controls it was so desperately lacking, not to mention a next-gen polish and kick ass online mode.
Even better, go the other way completely. If we’re going to mix and match, how about a true movie character mix-up?! Think Super Smash Brothers with pop culture sci-fi and action characters. Imagine a setting where you could fight as Riply from Aliens vs. Neo from the Matrix! Or how about Tron vs. The Terminator? I know I’m throwing movie licensing rights out the window, but hopefully you see my point.
Introducing Stars Wars characters into SC4 is like having Spider-Man come to help Frodo in Lord of the Rings! It just doesn’t fit!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to play some VF5 before the time comes when I have to pit Pai, or Sarah versus Captian Picard or Worf.

They should have had Kratos or Nariko from Heavenly Sword in the PS3 version and a well known xbox character for the 360 version(Master Chief??). Lightsabers would cut through everything else.

@ rockoutwithmysockout
TOTALLY! but that would only work on the ps3 version, and I don’t think you could put master chief in the 360 version.
And yeah I agree, it makes no sense, the lightsaber alone could cut thru any other sword and PWN everybody, it would be pointless.

They easily could have implemented any of the DOA characters into SC4 and have them use their weapons. Think Hayabusa with sword. Even though he is in Ninja Gaiden Sigma(?) on the PS3.
The Star Wars thing doesn’t make any sense at all.
On the Star Wars fighting comments, the Episode 3 game had a pretty fun battle mode, but the entire game felt rushed and half-assed.

I’ve said it once already.
Gordon Freeman with a crow bar.

As a 360 owner, I’m saddened that we’re not getting Vader but I’ll get over it–the PS3 can have this one.
Instead of Yoda, I want to play as an Ewok.

why cant they just let the star wars series die
im looking forward to force unleashed but come on
no one else milks a movie series that came out 30 plus years ago. after force unleashed why not let the series die. make the game amazing then leave with gamers happy that the last star wars game didnt suck like most of the others

episode 3 was fun, not an instant classic but fun nonetheless and that ending when you finish as anakin… wow

@Alecsander_C
They could put Master Chief in it easily for the 360. Hell, they put one in the last DoA game from what I understand.

The writer of this article is stupid. And no most of us dont see the point. I would say 99% of us arent complete fan boys who jerk off to Star Wars trivia books. Stopped being so closed minded. Its mindless fools like you that perpetuate racism, and eliminate free thinking.
