Rock Band. My obsession. My elusive prey. My Moby Dick. Will I ever find it?
Yep.
Got it on Saturday. I’m actually still playing it. I typed this between songs.
Ya know who else is playing it with me?
Find out after the jump.
My wife is playing it with me and loving it.
You’ve got to understand, my wife and video games, they’re like oil and water. They don’t mix. Sure she plays a little bejeweled now and again, but anything else gets an eye roll and a shake of the head. She just didn’t understand the fun factor. She didn’t get it.
Until Rock Band.
I’m not gonna lie to you, I enjoy getting drunk at a bar and belting out some Bon Jovi on Karaoke Night. I suck, as Doc will readily tell you, but I have a blast with it anyway. My wife, on the other hand, would never think of going up there and singing. She’s just not interested in it.
Until Rock Band.
First she was curious. “What the heck is this 180 bucks all about?” I’m sure that’s what she was thinking. Next thing you know, we’re making a band, called Spam Attack2 (Spam Attack was already taken) and we were playing gigs around the globe. Not only did she try the drums, but she was singing up a storm. Weezer, the Killers, the Clash, and the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, just to name a few.
But she loved it. Loves it.
The same person that kinda liked Guitar Hero, but hated Guitar Hero II, is now a Rock Band fiend. She was having so much fun, we invited some family over too. Next thing you know, I can’t even get in a game because everyone else was having too much fun rocking out to Blitzkrieg Bop.
So, I kicked them out.
Kidding, but boy the thought did cross my mind…

Congrats on Rock Band, Lono! I’m glad it’s one of the games you can play with your wife, I’m sure that’s one of the reasons you’ve been playing so much. Whenever I get it, we’ll have to rock out over the internets.

Alas, you have converted another woman into the ways of gaming.

Mys sisters family is totally rocking together.
She’s stays on the sidelines however, referring to herself as the Rubin Kincaid for the family band.
Just a great game!

Lol, lono. I Remember you getting upset at the lack of any RB in stores (I think it was you). And right when I was listening to that part of the Podcast, I was at walmart where there was a SKID with 7 copies of the 360 version alone sitting on it. Not to mentions the handful my local GS has.
