While I agree with Jack regarding contrived controversy (see also most controversies, possibly including Gamespot) I find it hard to believe that he so willingly laid down his verbal cannons regarding Mass Effect. Sure the game is about as harmless as a game can be, while still being entertaining. But still!
I am beginning to fear that Jack is losing steam. What will we do without our monthly Jack Thompson headlines. We NEED Jack Thompson like Superman needs Lex. Like firefighters need flames. Like Microsoft needs Sony. Let’s be honest here, Jack’s brutality towards Rockstar Games has sold more copies of Grand Theft Auto games than Gamestop. What the hell is this world coming to?
Just in case, I’m leaving early today to go duct tape my windows.

Maybe Thompson figured that when he says a game is bad for our kids, it sells like hot cakes. So now he is endorsing games to have them not sell. He could have been smart enough to figure out reverse psycology….could have been.

Jack Thompson might bring more attention to certain games, but I don’t think he affects sales that much. Hardcore gamers will buy the games regardless and casual gamers aren’t going to buy Mass Effect or Grand Theft Auto. Some people might buy a game because it is “cool” to rebel against authority, but the overall effect is minimal.

Awww, jack, its alright. We understand that you are now the laughing stock of the legal and gaming world. But gamers arnt stupid (unless you were that guy, in that warthog last week who TRIED to do a flip on last resort? No? good) and we can see straight though this weak attempt. Jack mass effect has SEX in it. What about all those impressionable youths? Wont somebody PLEASE think of the children??
LOL, it is just an attempt to regain respect. I doubt the credibility of the review.

I thought Jack Thompson burned or destroyed some copies of mass effect but IF this is true (I don’t know jack thompson personally to ask him).
I’m glad he’s slowly pulling away from his battle against video games.

i will make four guesses. one, him working on the mortal combat documentary may have soften him up a little to the other side. two, he says whats in the game and likes to be fully informed, the opposite being the cooper story, would make him swing to the other side out of stupidity of one side. three, he doesn’t hate fantasy games like this because he believes it will have no bearing on kids. four, with the new hate craze, jack is now a moderate. i hope the last one is not it or were are going to see hell coming.
