Has The PS3 Been Taken Off The Frontline?

Frontlines: Fuel of War looks to be an intense FPS with futuristic weapons and vehicles to help you to destroy the world around them. We here at Sarcastic Gamer are hoping for big things out of this title. One of the things we did not expect was grumblings between it and the PS3.

Find out the juicy details, after the jump.

Reports are pouring in that appear to indicate that Gamestop and EB Games were informed of a cancellation of the title for the PS3. A trip to their website confirmed that the listing for the PS3 version has disappeared, while the PC and 360 copies are still there. Could this mean that its been canceled, or possibly delayed?

The Kaos Studio forum mods have done nothing to dismiss this rumor. They did however state that a multiplayer demo is coming out on XBL soon, to ease the nervous 360 posters fearing of it getting canceled on that console as well. A few of the topic participants decided to investigate the rumors for themselves.

Forum member, HS83, said, “I called my local Gamestop and bam! They said it was canceled for the PS3. I then went to Ebgames.com and searched for Frontlines and only came up with the pc and xbox 360 version and a strategy guide.”

Mclutter, another member, wanted to show his disgust with his words and his wallet, “Well I just called my Gamestop where I already purchased my PS3 and PC copies and they said indeed the SKU for the PS3 has been taken out of their system. I will now be canceling my PC pre-order too. Thanks guys!!!”

What I want to know is, why was he buying two copies?

Is this a publicity stunt on Kaos’ behalf? Maybe they weren’t feeling the love like they were feeling from 360 and PC gamers, so they used a little reverse psychology. It’s called “fear of loss.” “If we threaten to take it away, they’ll defiantly want it.”

Is it so bad that game companies feel that stunts like this are the only way to sell games?

Then there’s the alternative, porting things to the PS3 is too damn hard. Apparently at Kaos, when the going gets tough, 360 and PC sales will do just fine. They say there’s no toll on the extra mile, but gas is expensive.

Canceled? Delayed? Either way, it sucks for Sony. The ones who really suffer are the gamers.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Sony’s concentration on Blu-Ray causes s*** like this and a 30 FPS Madden to slip through the cracks?

It was delayed, but you’re wrong, no one will suffer. No one in the history of history has or ever thought of purchasing a PS3 based on this game.

The funny thing that no one seems to realize is that people always play the games they want. If people play the kinds of games that come out on Xbox, they own an Xbox. The people waiting for games like this, own Xboxes.

Xbox is both blessed and cursed. All thier heavy hitters are FPS’s…but….all thier heavy hitters are FPS’s.
