Just a helpful tip: Take off May 1st.. That will be the day when you actually get the game.
When was the last time you got your hands on a game on its “release date”?

That is true. April 29th is probably the shipping date.

Keith, I know what you mean man. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I can never get my hands on a game less than two days after it ships.
But, often games do ship before the release date, but I believe that used to be more common in the past.

@Keith: That really pisses me off (the point you’re making, not you’re comment). I worked in the video rental/sales industry and we sold games… for whatever reason, the priority just isn’t there to make street dates yet the entire video industry (that uses the SAME pipeline) does it week after week. The MPAA is already nervous at gaming’s yearly revenue… when is retail going to take notice? When are street dates going to be _STREET_ dates again?!

analysts have predicted GTA IV could be huge because it’s multiplatform. If it _truly_ delivers, and delivers equally on both platforms… I could see it turning in huge numbers. Midnight sales wouldn’t surprise me either but I’m not sure it’s going to get the same buzz that say Halo 3 did. The baggage that the GTA series has and the fact that it’s human on human violence with drugs, sex, and violence won’t lend itself to the evening news as much as saving humanity from evil alien races.

Halo 3 was marketed like the second coming of Jesus. T.V. spots, product placement, contests, even slurpee collectibles. Specails food products….etc…

to fox news, jack thompson and all the other do gooder,up tight, strictnine drinking wackos, hookers and aliens are pretty much the same thing. they had mid nite launches for guitar hero 3. gta 4 is gonna be big. even though gta wont have its own soft drink it does have the negative press that will be plastered every where. gta 4 cross platform will probably out sell halo 3

For some reason we’ve got a long holiday here perfect for this realease date - it’s from May 1st to May 6th!
Too bad I dislike the whole GTA franchise and will miss this one

damm it’ll be atleast a week or two before i can get my hands on that game coz i live i oman and the nearest and fastest way for me to get the game will be to travel to Dubai which i wont coz i seriously hate travelling around i get car sick (dont ask y)
OH AND THIS GAME’S GONNA ROCK hope its a ps3 exclusive i cant wait to see the look on all those fanboys face’s XD
