It’s nice to see that fighter fans, like myself, aren’t being left out in the cold. Since fighting games aren’t as popular as say, FPS, you don’t see many updates for them. Well, I’m happy to report that an update is now available for my current 360 favorite beat-em-up Virtua Fighter 5!
Why you’ll want to hop onto Live (assuming it’s working) after the jump!
There’s no doubt that VF5 is a solid fighter, the best on the 360 to date, but the online mode is severly lacking. The best parts of the update address some of these issues. Here’s what you’ll likely appreciate the most:
-
Replays of online battles can now be saved . – Now I can take the time to study how the hell theVF5 experts wiped the floor with me and got a perfect in 10 seconds! Stupid eight year olds….
-
Gamer pictures will now be shown in online battles. – Finally! You can see and fear my disgruntled “Meh!” (Our SG logo) before each battle! This also helps me talk new online opponents into checking out our site, whether I win or not. Stupid eight year olds…
-
When someone joins an online match, you can now see their connection quality.- This is a HUGE help. Luckily VF5 rarely suffers from lag, but now I can avoid getting my butt kicked in slow motion! Stupid eight year olds…
-
Rematches in Online VS. Player Matches now possible even when the players haven’t added their opponent to their friends list. Why this wasn’t possible to begin with is beyond me. However why the heck can’t you change your character in a rematch! That’s still extremely stupid. Come on Sega! Fix that too! Stupid eight year olds…
Well, it’s nothing mind blowing, but it’s great that Sega is trying hard to keep the fighting game genre alive and kicking! Looks like VF5 just got a little better.
For the love of god, PLEASE don’t pull a Soul Calibur.
